How we met

Dating app or Nah?

When my twin and I turned 50, we bet one another that we would try our hand on this newfound dating app called "Our Time", which catered to more "seasoned" adults. I, who am always up for a challenge, set up my account. Doris, on the other hand, left me hanging! Any-t-way, I immersed myself into this dating app. I lost my enthusiasm after a couple of months and decided to close my account. However, within days of my account expiring, I received a message indicating that someone was interested in my profile. After checking out his profile, I responded to his request to call him that evening. I called, but went straight to voicemail! I left a message, but really didn't expect hear from him. Low and behold, he calls back the next morning. He apologized and stated that he had fallen asleep. This is when I discovered that James is an "Early to Bed & Early to Rise" kinda man! Any-t-way, with the exception of this, our first difference, we hit it off. I liked him! He was kind, smart, interesting and funny! Yes. Dating apps do not work for all, but this one worked for me!

When I met my Queen

I have always been a bit skeptical about dating websites, questioning whether you can truly find real love or your soulmate online. However, this is a love story I am happy to share, to give hope to those who are uncertain if a dating website can really work. You know that old saying, "He may not come when you want Him, but He's always on time!" Many nights, I would wake up to OurTime infomercials. So, I said, "I hear you, Lord," and decided to give OurTime a try, joining the site for one month. I browsed a few profiles, and there she was—my future Queen. We had pleasant conversations and decided to meet in person at the National Harbor. Despite the prominence of COVID-19, we chose to meet outdoors. We talked a bit, and I really wanted to spend more time with her, so I asked if she would like to get something to eat. Fortunately, we both enjoy Thai food and decided to dine at a nearby restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was good, but the highlight of the evening was our time together. Dorothy was beautiful, intelligent, loving, kind, and believed in family values. At that moment, I knew—"But Only God."
