FAQs

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

We'd love to see you in something that makes you feel like YOU! Color is highly encouraged, especially the colors we sent you on the invitation. Think fancy and fun! Please, as with most weddings, avoid wearing white/champagne/ivory/etc. Dress wearin' folks: opt for a cocktail/party dress or a jumpsuit in a fun pattern or color Pant wearin' peeps: opt for a jacket and a tie in a fun pattern or color This website has a great breakdown of what we'd like to see from you! https://www.brides.com/festive-wedding-guest-attire-6361569

Question

September in Kansas will be....warm?

Answer

YES. It will likely still be very warm on September 21. We recommend having layers so if it does get chilly later in the evening, you can be comfortable. If you're cold, you also have the option to dance your heart out to warm up.

Question

Is this your wedding? I'm confused.

Answer

We will be/were married on July 19 of this year and these invitations are inviting you to celebrate with that with us! AKA, this is our reception only, not our wedding. It won't be much different than a wedding reception that happens immediately after the ceremony, though, so don't worry.

Question

When do you need to know if I'm coming to the party? How do I tell you?

Answer

You can tell us you're coming (or breaking our hearts) by August 20 via the QR code on your invitation.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are registered on Williams-Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, Target, and Amazon. Our registry is located on Zola, where you also have the option to send us money for things like date nights, adventures, or whatever if you aren't a gift givin' kinda person.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

There is a parking lot located directly behind the venue that can accommodate some of us but if the lot is full, please safely park in the area and then make your way to the Gallery for the evening's festivities.

Question

Can I bring a date? What about my kids?

Answer

In order to keep to our budget and to fire code, we are limited to our set guest list. You'll know if you have a plus one or your kiddos are welcome if they are listed on your invitation (or they're in your RSVP). Thank you in advance for making the necessary arrangements to spend the evening with us!

Question

What are we eating? What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

We will have light snacks during our reception. Please let us know if you have a dietary restriction when you RSVP.

Question

Where should I stay? Do you have a recommendation?

Answer

We have a block of rooms at the Oread Hotel here in Lawrence! They are kind and easy to work with if you need a hotel room. There is a page on the website where you can use our link to get the block's prices. There are several other hotels in town that are really great, too! Do what works for you and your people.

Question

Do you have recommendations of things to do in town?

Answer

Yes! Lawrence is a FUN place to visit. There are tons of shops, restaurants, and things to do downtown, plus it's great for a cute walk around several neighborhoods. We love Old West Lawrence and East Lawrence best for walking! If you're here on Saturday morning, the farmer's market off of Massachusetts Street is also a great opportunity to walk and wander. For coffee check out: Nostalgia Room, Sunflower Cafe and Pub, 1900 Barker, and Grounded Coffee. For brunch check out The Roost, Ladybird Diner, Wheatfields, and Milton's Cafe. For lunch/dinners check out: Encore, Taco Zone, Culinaria, Bon Bon, Fresh Mediterranean Co., Merchants, Ramen Bowls... honestly, it's hard to go wrong. For cocktails check out: The Bourgeois Pig, John Brown Underground (make a reservation!), Henry's Upstairs, and Bon Bon. For treats check out: Sylas & Maddy's Ice Cream, Taylor's Donuts, Wheatfield's, and McClain's Market.
