We are a contrast in opposites in the most obvious ways. Yet, we connected immediately, of course with Jules sense of humor. When you find the real thing, it can be more epic than any romance ever written. Listen to Doris Jules' tale of true love. Let us rewind the clock of time to January 6, 2012, when it all started. Tatiana - Jules' daughter was 22; William - Jules' son was 18; Devante - Jules' son was 15 Alyssa – Doris’s daughter was 9 Barack Obama was 44 th US Present. Top Celebrities were Channing Tatum, The Kardashians and Justin Bieber. One of the top 100 songs were “Somebody That I Used to Know”, “It Will Rain” and “Thousand Years”. The #1 movies were Avengers & Pitch Perfect. TV shows – American Idol, The Voice and Dancing with the Stars In style were ombre hair and aviator sunglasses. New homes sold for $300,000. Gallon of gas $3.64. Slang word was “lit” Three years later, in 2015, Jules proposed in her apartment. Doris & Jules continued to live apart. Jules worked in Vallejo and Doris in San Francisco. They spent the next 6 years living apart only seeing each other on the weekends, Friday nights after her shift, Jules would leave Vallejo to be in San Francisco until Sunday night. In their spare time, they both love taking naps, watching Filipino movies and non Filipino, of course in the comfort of their home. Currently they love taking trips to the bay area casinos and being broke. Doris loves driving to Half Moon Bay and having lunch at Barbara’s Fish Trap & Sam’s Chowder House. In July 2021, they finally moved in together, apartment living it is. As their time grew together, they also faced their fair share of challenges, and the typical problems that come from loving someone and living with them. Our best relationship advice: Never fight about money, honesty, trust, respect, communicate and always go back to the things that make you both laugh. What holds a relationship together: Routine and rituals – a goodbye kiss before work and our weekend walks. Through it all, their commitment to each other, their love of Barbara’s Fish Trap and Filipino Movies helped them navigate the bumps along the road to where they are now. Now, of course, to be married.
