Question

What are the COVID-19 restrictions for travel to Puerto Rico?

Answer

To find out the most up-to-date COVID-19 restrictions, please visit: www.travelsafe.pr.gov. Currently, there are no requirements to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test to enter or leave Puerto Rico. Please refer to the website for any international travelers.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

The closest airport to the wedding venue is San Juan Airport (SJU). An alternate airport to fly into is Rafael Hernandez International Airport in Aguadilla (BQN), but will require a rental car to transit to San Juan.

Question

Do I need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico?

Answer

No - you do not need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico since it is a U.S. territory.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

There are so many options for hotels and AirBnB rentals in San Juan. If you plan to rent a car, you can choose anywhere you'd like in the greater San Juan area. If you are not renting a car, it may be best to choose a hotel in Old San Juan for the evening of the wedding.

Question

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

We recommend renting a car or using ride share apps to get around the city during your stay. If you plan to explore other areas of the island, a rental car is recommended. Be sure to book your rental car well in advance because the prices can be very steep.

Question

What parking is available at the wedding venue?

Answer

There is extremely limited street parking available at the ceremony and reception venue. Ballaja parking garage (open 24/7) is a 3-min walk from the reception venue and a 6-min walk from the ceremony venue. It costs about $2-3 per hour. Hotel El Convento also offers valet parking for $22 per day.

Question

Why is the wedding on a Thursday?

Answer

COVID-19 caused many weddings from 2021 to be postponed to 2022 and many weekend dates are already booked. Hopefully with the notice far enough in advance, guests can make it a long vacation weekend to enjoy the wonders of Puerto Rico.

Question

What is the weather like in Puerto Rico in June?

Answer

Expect temperatures to be about 86 degrees during the day and 74 degrees at night. Puerto Rico is a tropical island, so you can also expect sudden rain showers that typically last only a few minutes (sometimes even a few seconds) at a time.

Question

Do the locals speak English in Puerto Rico?

Answer

Yes - especially in the San Juan area. You should not have any issues communicating with the locals during your trip. That being said, it never hurts to brush up on a little bit of Spanish before your visit!
