Dorian and Diamond connected in a private Facebook dating group called Black Singles in Charlotte. After receiving a promotion that led him to the Bank of America Corporation, Dorian, new to Charlotte, posted in the group, sharing that he was a dad to a 6yr old daughter and had relocated for work. He included a few photos. When I saw his post, I thought he was handsome. I noticed his comments on various posts and appreciated his perspective on certain topics, which encouraged me to slide into his DMs. It was March 2020, during the height of the pandemic when everything, including restaurants and movies, was closed. I hosted a gathering at my home with friends and invited Dorian to join us. The moment I opened the door and saw him for the first time, I was amazed by his height and how incredibly attractive he was; the online pictures didn't do him justice. Dorian is from Chicago, and I'm from Detroit, so we both knew how to ballroom (the Detroit term) and step (the Chicago term). That night, we danced, ate, and enjoyed drinks together. We've been inseparable ever since.
