We met on Hinge, an online dating website, where we exchanged phone numbers and started texting! After a month of talking, we decided to meet over for the weekened in Charlotte, which was an equal 2 hour drive for both of us. We had a sushi date and spent the next day at Carowinds. Since then, there wasn't a day that went by that we didn't facetime each other or have a short phone call.
Leaving my hometown for PA school was really difficult. Matt was such a big support system for me throughout it all! One of my favorite memories with him was when he surprised me at school for Valentine's Day. I had been studying all day and remembered at the last minute I needed to rush out to get some mail before the post office closed. It was totally unplanned but at the same moment that I was running out of the building, his car was pulling into the parking lot! We celebrated that weekend with a long run, another sushi date, and lots of laughter.
Doria and I laugh about the most random things when we're out on dates. I can think of one particularly exhausting day for Doria after a full week of exams. My beautiful fiance and I were in line at Cookout when we noticed two mysterious doors with “torag” across the front. Doria guessed that it probably used to say gatorade… while I guessed “storage” since it seemed to be the most likely answer. We couldn't stop laughing thinking about the amount of gatorade someone could store in two full sized rooms.
I love Autumn and running at Bass Lake. Matt decided to take me there with some of my closest family members for fall pictures. We walked around half of the lake before stopping to snap a few photos of the leaves. He told me to pose facing the lake. When I turned around, he was on one knee. I'll always cherish how big his smile got when I said yes!
We believe in approaching our wedding day with intention and our desire is to honor God. We believe that planning for a wedding means planning for more than just one day. We believe in putting forth effort to celebrate God's work in our lives, in our relationship, and in the lives of all who gather with us. We believe our story is the work of our Lord and Savior and we desire for His grace that brought us together to be evident in our wedding. We believe that marriage is a reflection of Christ's love for the church and we pray for a reflection of that love in our celebration. We believe God has blessed us with each other and we look forward to celebrating the wonderful gift of marriage on our wedding day. Truly, God has done more for us than all we could ever ask or imagine. He continues to bless us everyday and we know that everything we have is because of Him! "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine..." Ephesians 3:20 We're so excited to share this next chapter of our lives with you all - see you in the mountains!
