When I transferred to high school, everything felt new and unfamiliar. On that first day, feeling a little lost, I met him. He was the first person to reach out, making me feel welcome when I needed it the most. We clicked right away, and he quickly became my first friend there. My mom loves to remind me how much he helped me settle in. Over time, our friendship grew stronger. We went from navigating new hallways together to sharing endless conversations about everything. By the summer before 10th grade, that bond evolved, and we realized it was more than just friendship. That’s when we officially started dating, and it all felt so natural.Fast forward to today, and we’ve built a life together in our own home, shared with our two furry companions: Airbud, our energetic and lovable dog, and Oliver, our independent yet affectionate cat. It’s amazing how far we’ve come from that first meeting in high school, to growing a life filled with love, laughter, and the chaos that comes with having both a dog and a cat under one roof.
