Mary and Nick first met on June 24, 2021 with likes on the dating app Hinge. Both decided to create accounts with little to no expectations. There are some icebreakers to include in your profile, one of them being “Two Truths and a Lie.” Nick correctly guessed Mary’s lie that she played basketball in college (FYI- she played volleyball). A few days into their conversations, Mary let Nick know she’d be gone for a few weeks on various summer trips. Nick distinctly remembers getting that message and thinking to himself "I'll never hear from her again..." Well, he was wrong! On July 25 they had their first date on the rooftop bar at the Great American Pub in Conshohocken. It lasted four hours, in part because Nick’s credit card took a tumble through a crack in the plank flooring. The rest, as they say, is history. Fourteen months later Nick proposed to Mary! He then surprised her at Joanna and Mike's house with close family and friends to celebrate. They cannot wait for the holiday season to become Mr. and Mrs. D'Orazio!
