Matron of Honor
Courtney - Instant friends from the start. Ali and Courtney met through a mutual friend, and they turned out to live in the same apartment complex. After countless girls nights out country dancing, frozen yogurt runs, and sushi dates, they became absolute besties! In 2014, Courtney married the love of her life, and Ali was very fortunate to serve as their Maid of Honor. She was affectionately named their “sista-wife!” Ali feels so grateful that their relationship has continued to grow even stronger throughout the years, and for Courtney to be, in turn, Ali’s Matron of Honor. Courtney is one of the kindest and most giving people Ali has ever known. She has been amazing throughout the celebration planning process, and is surely going to go down as one of the best MOH’s in history.
Bridesmaid
Felicia - AKA: Ali’s “wifey” since the 8th grade. For over 15 years, Felicia has been like the sister Ali never had. Hundreds of sleepovers throughout junior high and high school, led to rooming together throughout college and even after. Their favorite pastimes together are road tripping, rocking out to old school pop and hip hop/R&B, and telling stories that give them endless belly laughs. Felicia is one to always “tell it like it is.” She has never been afraid to be honest with Ali and always keeps her grounded. They have supported each other through some of their toughest life moments, and relished in each other’s successes. Though incredibly different, these two show that opposites really do attract. Ali can’t wait for “Feefee” to stand up with her on our special day.
Bridesmaid
Jackie - She is the East Coast to Ali’s West Coast (best coast)! Jackie met Ali as a candidate for her company in 2014. Ali instantly loved her outgoing personality and the fact that Jackie said, “super duper,” during her interview. Ali told her then-boss that they had to hire Jackie! Since then, she has been an incredible advisor in Ali’s career and helping her achieve her goals as a professional. Aside from work life, you can find Jackie and Ali drinking wine, eating cheese, and sharing the latest gossip whenever they are reunited. They spend hours upon hours on the phone during their coast-to-cost “long distance relationship.” The two have so much in common that they actually got engaged less than one week apart! We feel so honored to have Jackie coming all the way from Connecticut!
Bridesmaid
Susie - This little Italian is Ali’s Sassy Susie! She and Ali met at ASU (Go Devils!) through a mutual friend. It was a classic case of, “ummmm I don’t know about this girl.....” After meeting again and having a class together, they completely hit it off! Though they have always lived across the valley, they have made time for happy hours, double dates, game nights, and nights out on the town. Though their girl time has always been a priority, Susie and Chris had a bond from the start. We appreciate all of the love and support that Susie brings to our relationship!
Bridesmaid
Lauren - This country dancing, Jesus loving, good time, girl met Ali out dancing (naturally) at Cactus Moon during college! While becoming fast friends, Lauren also fancied Ali’s dance buddy, Jon (her now husband)! The three ended up competing in collegiate Latin/ballroom dancing, which meant spending a ton of time together at the studio. Ali has always valued Lauren as a sounding board and voice of reason. Their conversations vary on topics like sunsets, the Sun Devils, politics, and religion. Through this bond, Ali and Lauren have survived Lauren’s multiple moves over the years. Though the two live a plane ride away, they and the boys got together three times in 2018. Lauren and Jon openly welcomed Chris before they had even met, and Lauren is known as Chris’s “best friend!”
Best Man
Brad was Chris’s first friend when they met in kindergarten. They have been best friends for 25 long years. They went to the same daycare, elementary school, junior high, high school, and college. They lived a few streets down from each other when they were growing up, they lived together in college, they still see each other all the time, and they talk almost every day. Brad and Chris have experienced nearly everything together, and one of the most remarkable things about their friendship is that Chris cannot recall ever being in a true, serious argument with Brad (minus one time during recess on the basketball court). Their friendship is one that will pass the the test of time, and it will be no surprise when one day they are talking about how they have been best friends for 80 years.
Best Man
The A to the infamous best friend trio of the ABC. Chris met Ashon through Brad and basketball in 6th grade. Almost immediately, Chris and Ashon became close friends of their own. Despite going to different junior high schools, Chris brought Ashon into the Stapley / Mountain View friend group and he wouldn’t let school rivalries get in the way of what was to come. In junior high they spoke on the phone almost every night, in high school they hung out every weekend, in college they lived together and worked together at Fry’s, and they still talk and spend time together all the time. Chris and Ashon have birthdays four days apart, they often know each other’s thoughts without having to say anything, and they make an unstoppable team at nearly any game they play together.
Groomsman
Not everyone gets to have a brother who is also a close friend. Despite their 12 year difference in age, J.J. and Chris have always been extremely close. J.J. taught Chris everything he knows about X-men, Marvel, G.I. Joe, and Star Wars...which is fitting since Chris has always looked up to his brother as a role model. J.J. played games with Chris, helped him with his homework, and always pushed him to succeed in everything he did. Chris considers his brother one of the kindest, more caring, and thoughtful people on this earth, which helps Chris to strive to embody those characteristics everyday.
Groomsman
Bryce and Chris met in high school through basketball. Unfortunately for Bryce, he was the odd kid out because he came from a different junior high than everyone else. But to Chris, this made Bryce someone he wanted to be friends with. Their friendship really rose to new levels in college when Chris lived a few houses down from Bryce. Since then, Bryce has been one of the truest and most loyal friends in Chris’s life. They share many hobbies, interests, and worldly views. Chris values that he can talk to Bryce about anything and everything. While Bryce’s words and actions, by all accounts, can be outrageous and ridiculous at times, he is truly one of a kind and Chris’s life would not be as great as it is without him.
Groomsman
Nathan is another guy that has been friends with Chris since junior high, and another friendship that began with basketball. Chris and Nathan had two separate friend groups and they both played a huge role in those friend groups merging together to form many lasting relationships. After high school, Nathan and Chris stayed very close and they ultimately ended up living together with Brad and Ashon in college. In the last few years, their friendship has continued to grow and is stronger than ever. From attending the same church, to playing fantasy basketball, to Marvel interests, to game nights and Mexico trips, they share many great times together. Chris values Nathan’s sincerity, his listening, and his compassion for others. Their friendship will continue to strengthen as time continues.
Groomsman
Keith is truly one of the greatest guys that Chris has ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is hilarious yet philosophical, he is a sports fanatic and a history buff, he is a savage but also a teddy bear, and he is wise with his words but also quick with his wit. They have known each other since junior high, been friends since high school, and their friendship has only become stronger every year. Keith gets along with everyone, and appreciates the unique gifts that every person he meets has to offer. Keith takes the time to see the beauty in people and to make sure they see the beauty in themselves. He is someone that will bring joy to and support Chris and Ali in their marriage every step of the way.
