We planned a family trip to look at Christmas lights in downtown Saint Augustine. Which was nothing new, we are all the time going on some kind of family events. It started out as all the other family trips do, rushing, trying to beat the clock and not be late. We finally make it to the trolley pick up area. The line was so long, that it wrapped around two blocks. We waited what seemed like forever to get on. After going on two hours of waiting it was our turn to get ready for our trolley to pull up. As we were all admiring the cool 3D glasses that they gave us, (The glasses changed the lights into snowflakes, how cool?!), it was our turn. We loaded up and started our tour of lights. It was perfect. Towards the end after seeing all of the lights we were starting to head back to the drop off area. We stopped at a stop sign, and our whole group unloaded. The whole day Jessica being Jessica has kept on, on how she wanted to take family pictures by the big tree that was downtown. I take a couple of pictures of her family, then it was mama and daddy’s turn. They take their couple pictures, then I jump in. I ask Donte if he wanted us to take one. After our picture, I turn to go get my jacket and BAM! He grabs my hand and I turn around and he is on one knee. It seemed like the world has stopped. Like there was nobody else but him and I. I could not believe it. I was engaged. I could not bear to look at the ring, or him without bawling. It was PERFECT!
