When and where does love begin? For some, it’s love at first sight, but is that possible on a dating app? Don and Raquel met on Bumble, where they let the women call the shots! Maybe it wasn’t love at first sight for Don and Raquel, but they both swiped right. She hit him with a sarcastic “Nice pour” and they became instant friends. Something amazing was just beginning… Their intimate friendship bloomed across many Brooklyn bars and restaurants. The perfect environment for two fun loving Earth signs to feel comfortable and seen amongst friends and over drinks. Raquel and Don fell in love over time in this playful way, with many jokes, cold brews, and movie dates. Knowing their mutual love of food, Don planned a special dinner date night experience. It was the perfect night where he asked Raquel to be his girlfriend and their love became official. Life moves pretty fast when you meet the love of your life, especially when you’re living in NYC. Don and Raquel soon moved in together in Crown Heights and were off to experience new adventures in their relationship: cohabitation, traveling together, and the type of support that happens when two people live together and truly become a family. They often took their love on the road, creating milestones in their journey together: trips to Vermont and Upstate NY. Holidays spent with each other’s families in New Jersey and Maryland. To Costa Rica, for an EPIC couples adventure; Sedona, AZ, and more. Life threw the curveball of COVID, where they both had the opportunity to deepen their relationship with individual self care and support. It was during a romantic getaway trip to Asheville, NC in 2021 where they got engaged to be married on the Blue Ridge Parkway, a treasured location for Don, and now Raquel. Following the engagement, they made a decision to leave NYC and are currently living in an adorable home in Dover, NJ where they cherish how quiet it is, time spent together, cooking for each other, and above all, sleeping in the same bed every night. Their relationship holds true, after all of life’s ups and downs. They cannot wait to finally gather with family and friends to celebrate their love.
