Our ceremony on August 1, 2020, will be an intimate gathering of our closest family and friends. We are looking forward to getting married and celebrating our love! We understand that this time is stressful. We also understand the difficulties associated with traveling during this time of uncertainty. We hope to have a larger ceremony in 2021 to celebrate our marriage with ALL of our friends and family! Thank you for all of your continued love and support. On May 18, 2020, Gov. Ige extended Hawaiʻi's mandatory 14-day quarantine for all incoming travelers, which began on March 26 and includes travel to neighbor islands, through June 30. All incoming travelers, including anyone traveling between the islands, will be required to self-quarantine in their home or another lodging for 14 days. We are hoping this requirement will be lifted by August 1st.
Derek and I met while we were both attending separate courses at the Defense Information School (DINFOS). A friend of his was in my class and we all went out to dinner as a large group. Derek arrived late and sat down next to me at the end of the table. By the end of the meal, I was reaching over and eating fajitas off his plate! I should have known that Mexican food would lead me to the love of my life. Ha! After our first "official" date the next night, we were inseparable.
