We’re Getting Married!

Our story begins in Tallahassee, FL. Two complete strangers, one there studying nursing and one there, well, to study the college nightlife. Donovan who, at the time, lived in Panama City Beach, FL, was staying with a close friend (hey Cole) for the weekend. The best part is Cole coincidentally, lived in the college apartment above Halie’s. Donovan dropped something off of the upstairs balcony onto Halie’s patio below and used it as a lame yet clever excuse to talk to Halie. Later that night the two got to talking and before they knew it they were traveling two hours every weekend to see each other. Donovan was taking thing’s undoubtedly slow, so instead of Halie referring to him as her boyfriend he was infamously named “the man upstairs.” Fast forward approximately eight months, Halie had still not been blessed with the girlfriend title, yet the two had decided she would take a nursing preceptorship in Panama City Beach, FL and move in with Donovan. This is the point in the story where everyone calls the couple crazy. While they aren’t wrong, Halie and Donovan knew what they wanted in their future. Each other. About a month later Donovan ordered a pizza for pickup and took Halie to her most favorite place, the beach. This is where, FINALLY, Donovan asked Halie to be his girlfriend. From then on the couple walked through every high and low together. Halie graduated college with Donovan by her side and they officially said goodbye to Tallahassee. Later, they moved just up the road to Santa Rosa Beach, FL and got an apartment, two dogs, and a guinea pig together. Many memories later, the lease was up and the two were ready for a change. They packed their bags and moved to Cape Coral, FL. Halie took on a job in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit while Donovan decided it was time for a change and followed his dreams of becoming a State Trooper. Both beyond proud of each other the couple navigated all the changes as their relationship flourished. Before they knew it, Christmas was approaching and Donovan came up with the idea of doing family photos for a Christmas card. The two families came together to capture the beautiful photographs. As the sun was setting Halie assumed the photo shoot was coming to an end and was preparing herself to leave, however Donovan was very insistent on getting one last photo with just Halie and himself. Turned around fixing her dress Halie remained completely clueless as to what was about to happen. She turned back around and there was Donovan, down on one knee, asking her to marry him. Can you guess what she said? There was no doubt in her mind that Donovan was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. As he placed the ring on her finger, she realized just how special the piece of jewelry was. The ring was given to Donovan by Halie’s grandmother, made up of Halie’s great grandmother’s and great great grandmother’s diamonds. A piece of jewelry that holds so much love to be passed onto Donovan and Halie’s future marriage. Now the couple anxiously awaits the big day. Excited to celebrate with you and all those they love. After all, their story doesn’t end here but it is rather just the beginning.
