Things To Do

Below are some of our favorite restaurants and activites in the city.
Bistro Cacao

Bistro Cacao

316 Massachusetts Avenue Northeast, Washington, DC 20002
, (202) 546-4737

This French-style restaurant is where Jake tricked Shannon into trying so he could propose on the way! Located steps from the U.S. Capitol.

The Salt Line

The Salt Line

79 Potomac Avenue Southeast, Washington, DC 20003
, (202) 506-2368

If you’re looking for some good oysters and Chesapeake dishes on the river, then look no further. Located in the Navy Yard neighborhood next to the Nationals baseball stadium, we’ve spent many of times here before and after baseball games.

The Eastern

The Eastern

360 7th Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20003
, (202) 621-7950

A great, low-key place to relax with a glass of wine and apps in the Eastern Market neighborhood. We enjoy coming with friends in this small restaurant setting.

Chloe

Chloe

1331 4th Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20003
, (202) 313-7007

In the heart of the Navy Yard neighborhood, Chloe is a must try and also the restaurant we made some major wedding decisions over dinner. You can't go wrong splitting small plates.

Union Pub

Union Pub

201 Massachusetts Avenue Northeast, Washington, DC 20002
, (202) 546-7200

Want to grab an Old Style and watch the Cubs game? This American sports bar and grill is our choice for any Cubs or Bears game and is steps from the U.S. Capitol. (FYI – the Cubs play the Dodgers at this time)

Old Europe

Old Europe

2434 Wisconsin Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20007
, (202) 333-7600

For anyone who loves good schnitzel, pretzels, and good beer, this German-themed restaurant is in north Georgetown and a few minute ride from the hotels. This is also the place we were eating when we found out COVID would shut down the city (world).

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab

750 15th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20005
, (202) 489-0140

This former bank – also just steps from the White House – has some of our favorite food in the city. Everything from their oysters to their steaks, to a good happy hour, this restaurant is one of our favorites. Not to mention, you may very well see some politicians enjoying a bite to eat here.

Old Ebbitt Grill

Old Ebbitt Grill

675 15th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20005
, (202) 347-4800

Just steps from the White House this is one of DC’s most exquisite and famous restaurants. A full American menu you can't go wrong with.

Jaco Juice & Taco Bar

Jaco Juice & Taco Bar

Wisconsin Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20007
, (202) 505-2216

One of our favorite places to eat and one of our go-to spots when we lived in the Georgetown area, this place has fresh ingredients for delicious (and healthy) tacos and quesadillas, juices, smoothies, etc. Great for a morning bite.

Tony and Joe's Seafood Place

3000 K Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20007

Perfect place to sit outside and enjoy a drink and views of the Potomac River.
