How We Met

First comes "swipe right." Then comes marriage.

Kels- "We can all thank some of the wonderful bridesmaids, as well as Loma Linda margaritas, for downloading the infamous Tinder dating app on my phone. After not much use and a few weeks later, this American loving stud of a man came into view. Of course, just like they say, I swiped right. (p.s. this story was not supposed to ever be told, but hey, maybe we can become the face of tinder for couples that worked out; we both need to pay off our student loans so it's worth a shot). His profile said something corny like, I'll buy you tacos if you message me first. So of course, free tacos? I'm game. I messaged him and we started talking; every day. As everyone knows, Chief Boehme didn't let me grow up a naive girl. So after realizing I kinda like this guy, I told him I would only meet him in Toledo, when I was out with friends. January 21, 2017; we met. He came down with a couple of his friends and we had the best time. He even came back to Toledo the next day to watch the Steelers game, and I wondered why he was so quiet. Now I understand, he's a psycho and didn't want me running for the hills day one. Very quickly, we both started to realize how much we had in common, and how much fun we had together. Today, he's my best friend and I can't imagine life without him." Dono- "The first night we met, I told Kelsey 'Don't let Nashville hold you back'. Only a few short months later, we moved to Nashville and started a new chapter of our lives. Being away from home brought us closer together, because here, we were all each other had. We're always up to something. From attending concerts, to a weekend hiking in Chattanooga, traveling to Key West, or going to Steelers games. I finally found someone who is my true partner-in-crime. Someone who will put up with my shenanigans, film the embarrassing moments (i.e. randomly going out and watching me dance to MJ on a stage after a few beers), laugh with me, laugh at me, and love me. I'll always be thankful for her."

Our Engagement

Uhhhhh YES!!

July 16, 2020 Donovan had been asking me all week what I wanted to do for my birthday. I just wanted to be outside and hike! So he hired a photographer to capture "the special moment" at one of our favorite hiking spots. However, I decided last minute that I wanted to explore a new place. I really just wanted a new spot, a big waterfall, and a body of water to jump in! Unbeknownst to me, he canceled the photographer and ordered a new gadget from Amazon prime (our addiction). The morning of my birthday, we woke up really early to research the perfect place, and found one. It was Greeter Falls in Altamont Tennessee, just under a two hour drive. Once we got there, we were getting our hiking stuff packed up in the backpack and ready to go. He pulled out this new gadget from amazon; a tripod. He said he got it to start documenting our adventures, which I thought was a really great idea! Didn't think anything of it! Not long into our hike, we found our first waterfall and started exploring around it. He set up the tripod and placed his phone on it to take a picture of us with the waterfall. As we were getting in position for the picture, he sneakily reached into his pocket, and started to bow down on one knee. I didn't even realize it at first, and then was in ABSOLUTE SHOCK. I'm pretty sure I was both speechless and deaf. Maybe even partially blind too?! I think I heard most of what he said, but I definitely heard the most important question. UHHHH YESSSSS!!!!!! YESSSSS!!! YESSSSSSSSS!!!! YESSS!! We spent the rest of the day on cloud nine! My ring was a little big, so we were both terrified about me wearing it in the water, since we were jumping in and swimming around the waterfalls. Tucked away in backpack security it stayed! So on our way home, we stopped by a jewelry shop to buy a ring snuggie so it would fit better. He didn't want me to wear it because he was terrified I would lose it. BUT, I just got a beautiful ring and PROPOSED TO; of course I HAD TO WEAR IT!

Our Milestones

As we grow older together, as we continue to change with age, there is one thing that will never change. I will always keep falling in love with you.

We met on January 21, 2017. We started dating on March 29, 2017. Signed a lease for an apartment in Nashville on June 12, 2017. (when ya know, ya know!) Donovan moved to Nashville July 9, 2017. Kelsey moved to Nashville September 23, 2017. We added Nash to our family on December 12, 2017. We added Maverick to our family on January 2, 2020. WE GOT ENGAGED ON JULY 16, 2020. We will be getting married on September 4, 2021. THIS IS A SPECIAL DAY. You ask why? Let us tell you! Grandpa and Grandma Boehme were married on September 4, 1954! So we will be sharing their wedding anniversary, which means the world to us! AND Grandma Boehme is so excited! We will say I do exactly 67 years after my grandparents did. It even falls on Labor Day weekend this year, which is how it fell for them too! Talk about "meant to be", and "everything falling in place!"
