67 Via di Colognole, Greve in Chianti, Toscana 50022, Italy

Antica Macelleria Falorni, a store that is remarkable and is open 8 - 1 and then 3:30 to 7:30. Located at #69, it has several rooms of home-prepared local cold cuts for picnics, pre-sliced and sold in vacuum packed envelopes : the ample choice includes Tuscan prosciutto, a sweeter Parma-type prosciutto ("prosciutto dolce"), boar prosciutto ("prosciutto di cinghiale"), boar sausages, and seven kinds of salame including a local fennel seed-laced variety ("finocchiona"). Mortadella is also prominently on display. Their aromatic cheese cellar, down a steep flight of steps, displays pecorino in various stages of development – the cheeses themselves are on the sale in the little room at the tip of the steps. An excellent wine selection is now available here too – in the room on the far left of the store, with a small but choice selection of Vin Santo (excellent smaller bottle of Castello di Ama, perfect for a picnic). Tastings of a select number of open bottles is possible!
