For our friends coming from out of town. Our home in Altadena is closest to Burbank airport (it's about 20 minutes away). If you can get a flight into that airport we would recommend doing so! 

LAX is about 1 hour away by comparison (depending on traffic it could be more). It will probably have more flights and they will be cheaper. But if you want convenience, Burbank is your best bet.

I have linked some hotel options. We have reserved a room block at the Courtyard by Marriott Pasadena/Old Town. But there are lots of other hotel options in Pasadena if you would like to stay someplace else. There are also several Airbnb's in our neighborhood if you want to do that.
