Here is a itinerary curated by us if you want to take a day trip to downtown Detroit! Stop one: Visit Eastern Market for some fresh produce or locally made goods Stop two: Brunch at Vivio's. Get one of their yummy bloody mary's and one of their scrumptious mussle dishes! Stop three: Visit the Detroit Zoo or head to Belle Isle (must stop at the FREE aquarium (its the oldest in the country btw, and the newly renovated conservatory). Make it a true Belle Isle experience and pack a picnic. Optional stop three: Visit the DIA - named the best art museum in the country! Stop four: Take a stroll downtown. Visit the many shops, and stop for drinks at Wright and Co, the Apparatus room in the Foundation Hotel, or Bad Luck Bar (cool speakeasy). Make reservations if you can. Stop five: Head to Corktown and have dinner at Ottava Via. One of our all time fav spots in the city! Stop six: Grab at drink at Two James before heading home.
For a very relaxed casual dive bar vibe, visit the spot where Jenna & Don had their first date! To really immerse yourself in this weekend of celebrating their love, Jenna drank red wine & Don drank Bell's two-hearted. Cheers to love!!
There are many great activities available to do in downtown Ann Arbor! If you have kids, the hands on museum is a great choice. There are multiple restaurants, breweries (Jolly Pumpkin is Jenna's all time fav) and attractions to visit. Zingerman's is a great choice to check out or the Matthai Gardens.
Downtown Plymouth is a great place to eat, drink, and shop. Just head to the heart of Plymouth and you will find any fare you desire! The little local shops are also very unique and cute - check it out if you are looking for something to do while you are here! Some notable places: Pizza e Vino, NICO & VALI Italian Eatery, Sardine Room (Happy hour from 4-6 PM on weekdays with an amazing raw oyster bar). Jenna says they also have great martinis. Don and Jenna's engagement spot: The Ledger in downtown Plymouth along w/ the Ebenezer, a cool speakeasy down below the restaurant.
Another great little downtown area with lots of cute shops and restaurants!
One of Jenna's favorite things is Christmas, and Frankenmuth is a great place to visit if you have some time over the weekend and are looking for something to do! About an hour away from Metro Detroit, immerse yourself in the German Christmas town. Visit the famous Bronner's, eat at Zehnders or Bavarian Inn, peruse the cute shops in town, or even go for a horse drawn carriage ride!
