We met through some mutual friends one night out in Denver, Colorado in 2020. It was right at the start of the COVID pandemic, so date nights for us looked a little different. Instead of fancy wining and dining, we made each other a lot of home cooked meals, watched old Will Ferrell movies, and many margaritas were shared. It wasn't long before Dakota's family was calling me his "quarantina cutie" because of how much time we were spending together. A few months later, Madeline packed up and set out for Florida to complete her Master's program. We promised each other to keep in contact and visit each other as much as we could, we both kept our words and a year and a half later Dakota drove me the 1,747 miles back to Denver where we moved in together. We established a loving and cozy home in Englewood, CO with our fur baby, Huckleberry. The next few years composed of ski trips, beach trips, attending our loved ones and friend's beautiful weddings, cozy nights in, fun nights out in Denver, exploring Colorado, and spending quality time with each other and our family and friends. Fast forward a couple more years- Dakota planned the most romantic surprise engagement in Nashville, TN involving my whole family, candles, rose petals, and a lot of happy tears. These past 5 years have been full of support, laughter, clarity, conquering long distance, love, warmth, and true happiness. We cannot wait to marry each other and continue on with our love story.
