They first met at The Boiling Crab sometime in 2008 where they were employed. No, it was not love at first sight for either of them nor did they become instant friends. The friendship didn't start until early 2010 and the feelings gradually followed. The flirting and conversations started at work and continued through text. One day after work, they went to eat at a 24-hour Pho restaurant and that is where Thommy asked Dominique out on a date. It ended up being a dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Pasadena. After their date, they continued to talk and get to know each other and after several months, Thommy made it “official” on August 8, 2010 and they have been together ever since :)
For their 8-year anniversary, Thommy rented a beautiful apartment in Downtown L.A. for them to spend the day at. He had been planning to propose for close to a year but Dominique had no idea! A few of her friends even hinted at the possibility when they found out they were celebrating their anniversary but she kept saying no way and was not in any way convinced that it would happen. They spent the day swimming and playing pool before getting ready for dinner at Ruth’s Chris (yes, it's their favorite place for steak) in Beverly Hills. During dinner, Dominique’s sister Yvette and cousin Denise went to the apartment to help Thommy decorate and set up for the proposal, which consisted of flowers, candles, balloons, pictures, signs, lights and a Go Pro :). After dinner, they headed back to the apartment and Thommy had Dominique wait outside in the hall while he went in to check on everything… he wanted to make sure the proposal would be recorded on the Go Pro. Thommy pulled Dominique into the apartment backwards, read a sweet message from his phone, led her through the decorations and onto the balcony overlooking the twinkly lights of DTLA.. that's when he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She ugly cried and of course said yes! #thomminique
