After two weeks of back and forth, Malek suggested they go see a turtle-themed movie on September 20th: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Dominique agreed, if he brought the snacks. The two kept a healthy distance as strangers do on their first date, but then Dominique drove Malek down to his car from the garage, and the conversation of theories of how the movie should have gone, or how a sequel could go continued from them. Then the conversation took a turn into the infamous "Worm consciousness" 4 hour long discussion. [For context, Malek previously in text told Dominique "Don't ask me anything silly like 'would you still like me if I was a worm'?". Dominique responded, "Why not? Would you still like me if I was a worm?" Malek said "If you were a worm, I'd eat you for the extra protein." Dominique: "Do you usually eat worms?" Malek: "No, but I'd eat you out of spite."] So after the movie ended at 10/11pm, Dominique convinced Malek that if she was a worm, she would be herself with her full consciousness and would know she was being eaten. They argued back and forth whether worms had brains, could have consciousness, and ultimately feelings. In the end, Malek agreed to disagree, and said if Dominique became a worm, he would get her top quality soil and vegetation, and would not eat her for protein or out of spite. The rest has been history.

"Did you ever wonder what I wrote to the Florida Bar when writing your letter of recommendation?" After a series of big changes; a move from Tampa, moving in together, career and job changes, and everything else. The Couple went to the Botanical Gardens to test out Dominique's new hybrid camera and look at the vegetation. After a long walk around Malek said, "I want to take video", then he requested Dominique to join. Malek: "Did you ever wonder what I wrote to the Florida Bar when writing your letter of recommendation?" Dominique: "Noo?" After reading his letter, Malek asked what the issue was, Dominique unsure, focused on the 98% versus 100%. Malek identified the error, he signed as Significant Other. On bended knee, he asked "Why would I be your significant other when I should work on being your husband?"
