It all began in the summer of 2013, in a philosophy class at Lamar University. Fate had placed us in the same room, but timing had other plans. We were both in different situationships back then, so we admired each other from afar — quiet glances, stolen moments of curiosity, and an unspoken connection we didn’t yet understand. A few semesters passed. Life shifted, as it always does, and so did we. Eventually, we stopped dancing around what had been right in front of us all along. We finally gave ourselves permission to truly see one another — and from that moment on, everything changed. It may have been a slow start, but when our souls finally connected, it was electric. Once we opened our hearts, there was no going back. We didn’t need anything else — just each other, it felt like coming home. The kind of love that doesn’t need fireworks, because it is the fire. The truth is, it was secretly love at first sight — we just had to get out of our own way to realize it.
