Welcome to the new age of dating! We met like many others in our generation: on Tinder! After talking for a few months we finally met in person (right at the start of the pandemic), and we have been inseparable ever since. Quarantining with someone you just met might not work for everyone, but it worked for us!
We are a pretty laid back couple, so why should our proposal be any different? At the end of February I went on a trip to Washington, D.C. to go to a conference for school, and that's when Garry decided that he wanted to pop the question. After I returned from my trip he took me out for an anniversary dinner (a week after our 3 year anniversary) to an upscale German restaurant in KC called Affare. On the way to the car after a lovely dinner Garry asked me if I wanted to take a picture, which I thought was odd because he is not one to enjoy taking pictures. I declined the offer because it was a chilly March night and my feet were killing me from the shoes I chose to wear. We opted for a selfie in the car instead. Once we get back to our apartment and we get out of the car, he asked me "Are you cold?". After saying I wasn't he proceeded to reach into his coat pocket, and that's when I knew. He may have forgotten to get on a knee, but I still couldn't have said yes faster. We cannot wait to celebrate with all of you! See you in October!
