It was the summer of 2023. Dominique had just finished PA school, marking the end of two of the hardest years of her life. The last thing on her mind was a relationship; she wanted to enjoy her newfound freedom and the spoils of being a single, independent woman. To kick off her summer, she planned to attend her classmate Emily's wedding. Meanwhile, Braulio had just started a new job and had resigned himself to the bachelor life, feeling unsure about his future, to say the least. At least he had his long-time friend and teammate, Keegan's, wedding to attend. To their credit, Keegan and Emily saw a potential aligning of the stars and decided to mention Dominique to Braulio and Braulio to Dominique. Upon the mentioning of the other, they both had the same reaction: "Ugh, no thanks." But on the beautifully sunny day of June 17th, 2023, Braulio nearly snapped his neck doing a double-take when he saw Dominique enter the venue, looking like a living, breathing human sunset. He promptly finished his liquid courage and wasted no time walking right up to her to introduce himself. Despite their best efforts, they spent the entire night together, dancing and talking as if they had known each other all their lives. As it so happens, now they will.
