We first crossed paths our freshman year of high school in World History Honors class, and from that moment on, a quiet, effortless friendship began to grow. We bonded over our shared love for history (of course), all kinds of music, and long, deep conversations about anything that made us wonder. Even as life carried us to colleges in different states and down different paths, we never quite lost touch. Every so often, one of us would reach out, and it always felt natural—like no time had passed at all. Then in 2020, during one of those unexpected sparks of connection, Dom sent Carly a message. What started as a simple catch-up turned into a daily lifeline during COVID, and we found ourselves becoming modern-day pen pals while Dom was all the way in California. He came home to Jersey in 2021… and from there, everything fell into place. The rest, as they say, is history—our favorite subject of all.
