In November 2023, both Dominic and Stacy had just come out of long-term relationships. Dominic was living with his high school friend, Matthew Criswell, whose sister Emily had run collegiately with Stacy at the University of Mount Union. One evening, Stacy and Emily stopped by Maize Valley, where Matt was working. The siblings immediately agreed that Dominic and Stacy would be perfect for each other and insisted they had to meet. Though both Dominic and Stacy were hesitant to jump into something new so quickly, their friends’ encouragement eventually won out. A few days later, they agreed to meet for a drink after work at Town Tavern in Green. What was meant to be a quick Tuesday drink turned into hours of conversation—and they ended up closing the bar down that night. Just four months later, Stacy and her puppy Avalon were moving in with Dominic. From there, the rest was history.
