FAQs

Question

📍 When and where is the wedding?

Answer

We’re tying the knot on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the American Legion in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Full address and event times can be found on the “Details” page!

Question

📆When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Kindly RSVP as soon as you can—no later than September 19, 2025. You can RSVP right here on our website!

Question

đŸ›ïž Is the ceremony/reception indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors, overlooking the water. There is a small hill to walk down to the ceremony space, so please take your time and walk with care—the view is absolutely worth it! The reception will be indoors, but guests are welcome to enjoy the surrounding outdoor area, which features a playground for the kids and a beautiful view of Johnson’s Pond. Just a heads up: the outdoor spaces include gravel and grass, so we recommend wearing comfortable footwear.

Question

💒 Where do I go when I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will be held outside, behind the American Legion building. When you arrive, just walk around to the back deck—you’ll see signs or people to guide you. The ceremony space is down the hill, overlooking the water. It’s a short walk with a beautiful view! If you need assistance or have any mobility concerns, please let us know in advance—we’ll be happy to help make sure you get down to the ceremony space comfortably.

Question

⏰ What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony starts promptly at 1:00pm, so we recommend arriving by 12:45 to park, get settled, and take in the view before we begin. You’re also welcome to come as early as 12:30 and grab a drink at the bar before the ceremony kicks off!

Question

😎 What’s the dress code?

Answer

Come comfy, come casual! No need to break out the ballgowns or tuxes—we’re keeping it relaxed and laid-back. Think sundresses, polos, nice jeans, or whatever makes you feel good and ready to celebrate! Think cute and cool—not too formal, but still wedding-worthy. Our wedding ceremony will be held outdoors, with the reception taking place indoors. Please note: there is a hill leading down to the ceremony space, so we kindly ask guests to walk with care. The surrounding outdoor areas—where you might mingle, take photos, or let the kids play—include gravel and grass. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, as heels may sink and dressy footwear might get a little dusty!

Question

☀ What’s the weather like that time of year?

Answer

Late September in North Carolina is usually warm and pleasant—think sunny skies with temps in the 70s to low 80s during the day and cooler in the evening. We recommend bringing a light layer just in case!

Question

đŸ·Is the bar open or cash?

Answer

It’s a cash bar, so don’t forget to bring cash or a card if you’d like a drink! While Dominic and I aren’t big drinkers ourselves, we still wanted to make sure our guests could enjoy their favorite drinks. The American Legion has a fully stocked bar, and here’s a little perk: the prices are shockingly low—Cheers! đŸ»

Question

🍰 Will there be food?

Answer

Yes! We’re having a classic cake & punch reception with light appetizers, cookies, and of course—wedding cake!

Question

No pressure, just love!

Question

đŸ„žAre there any plans the morning after the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Before we leave for our honeymoon, Dominic and I will be having a relaxed breakfast/brunch and would love to invite anyone still in town to join us for a casual send-off! We’ll be at First Watch in Raleigh at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 📍 6109 Glenwood Ave Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27612 This is a laid-back, come-as-you-are kind of morning. Question

📒What’s this about a family recipe book?

Answer

If you’ve been invited to this wedding, you’re family to us! As we blend our families and traditions, we’re creating a special keepsake: a family recipe book! We’d love for you to be part of it by sharing a favorite recipe—something meaningful, nostalgic, or just plain delicious. It could be a beloved holiday dish, a go-to comfort meal, or a sweet treat with a story. Feel free to include a little note or memory with it, too! Please send your recipe to michellematusie@gmail.com Or 8413 Woodberry Ct. Garner, NC 27529 Thank you for helping us start this new chapter with love—and good food!
