Our Story begins during the summer of 2018. My eyes noticed someone new in the pews of St. Jude Tadeo, and whenever he looked my direction, I'd redirect my gaze. I didn't want him to notice my lingering looks at him. It was hard not to stare, he is very good looking, and I never imagined my first encounter with him would be the start of something wonderful. Later on that summer, Dominic was accompanying his grandmother to the Spanish Mass. I summoned up the courage to approach him to ask if he planned to continue making an appearance at the 12:30 mass. I could tell he was a bit nervous to talk to me, but he confirmed he would. This marked the beginning of love, adventures and happy memories. We would text here and there and a few weeks after I asked if maybe we could get together some time. Later that week we went on a typical date; movies, dinner, and coffee. Deep in conversation and enjoying each other's company we stayed until closing time at La Madeline, and with both of us reluctant for the night to end we continued to coffee at Starbucks, where we again stayed until closing time. The romance blossomed from there, and we spent as much time together as possible. Shortly after it was my 22nd birthday and having him at the party made it one of my favorite birthdays. At the end of September, after dinner with his parents, Dominic asked me to be his girlfriend. There were tears, as there usually are, and I said yes. Since then we've been on many adventures; made it through Grad School, COVID, long distance, and most recently, our magical time in New Orleans. On January 2nd of this year, in front of St. Louis' Cathedral, he pulled out what I can only describe as a shinning light coming out of the pocket of his jacket, and as he descended onto one knee, Dominic asked "Ceci will you marry me?" I said yes!
