Our Story

Lets set the scene, its Holloween season, haunted houses, costume parties everywhere, and scares around every corner. Who knew this year would be the first moment their lives crossed paths. Two soul's changed forever. It started with two simple invitations from some friends. One invitation being from Ashley's roomate, and the other being from Ashley's past roomate's boyfriend (now husband). "Hey do you wanna go to scarywood with some friends?" Ashley was in pure panic. Dominic on the other hand wanted to enjoy a night at the local amusement park with some friends. What is scarywood you might be asking, well let me tell you. It is a holloween themed time at the local amusement park filled full of haunted houses and many people in scary costumes ranging from chainsaw massacre to creepy clowns. Thus the reason for Ashley's panic. Anyways enough jibberjabber lets get to the moment where it all started. The friend group walked through the amusement and multiple of them wanted to brave the pitch dark maze full of creepy crawlies on the walls, slimey textures underfoot, and things dangling from the ceiling that you wouldn't want to experience (trying to keep it PG)... Ok ok, it was intestines fake intestines. Ashley on the other hand did not want to experience this horrific nightmare of trying to find your way through the dark while touching things that most people never encounter in their life. This was the moment. Dominic saw this as an oppurtunity to get to know her better and also comfort her because she would be the only one to not enjoy such a horror. They walked over to a "closed of section" of the park and sat down at the table under a gazebo (this whole section had yellow tape surrounding it making it off limits...) They started a conversation, the normal, "What interest you? What church do you go to? Why are you attending NIC?" This moment felt like a pause in a world full of life's endless needs. They grew closer in this moment, maybe both of them having not even realized it. They enjoyed the very intimate moment they had alone together (getting out of one of the haunted houses, LOL.) Eventually the rest of the group made it out of the maze and regrouped. At the end of the night we took a group picture and they dropped Dominic off back at His place. Immediately he knew he would reach out to her, having a keen liking to Ashley. Eventually He texted her on instagram and they exchanged phone numbers. They hung out and did homework together, watched movies, and went on a few dates, but it didn't end up working out, and they both believe it was for the good. This lasted not even a month, but God had a plan that they would both realize in the near future. 2 years passed and they have seen each other on occasion but they never talked to one another. Until a Sunday school program at their Church, it was for College aged individuals who wanted to dive into their relationship with God. Both Dominic and Ashley enrolled in this 2 year program of sunday school. The first day was..., lets just say awkwardddd, they didn't talk at all. The second week of sunday school Ashley sat next to Dominic which surprised Him. They talked about the content of class in the sunday school and even caught up a little bit on the past 2 years. It wasn't until the next week that the new rekindled interest between both of them would really take place. Some of the class the following week decided to go on a hike after class and both Dominic and Ashley joined. Ashley invited Dominic to ride with her ALONE(which is agaisnt some boundaries the class has in place.) Little did she know that through this moment Dominic would purposely ask question to see if Ashley could be His wife. From then on the relationship furthered hanging out all the time with friends and even Dominic's Family. Eventually Dating, to the engagement and now to Marriage. An Amazing Story by US
