We're Married!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dominic & Rebecca attempted to reschedule their originally planned Belize wedding several times. However, the severity of the virus and ambiguity of when travel would be safe for large groups again caused them to revise their plan substantially. Instead of the large gathering they had hoped to have in Belize where family & friends, local and abroad, could all come, they had to make the difficult decision to reduce to a small wedding with only their parents. This occured in Belize on April 9th, 2021. They still plan to have a proper celebration in the United States at some point in the near future. They will update everyone when they have a date set for this second wedding and they look forward to the day when we can all finally celebrate together! Stay safe and healthy!

Rebecca met Dominic while staying at his family's hotel for one of her dissertation field seasons during the summer of 2013. They were good friends for many years until Rebecca worked up the courage to tell Dominic she had developed more serious feelings. It took him a while, but Dominic came around to the idea of a long-distance relationship. Eventually, Rebecca realized she could continue to pursue her passions and career in Belize where Dominic could continue managing his family farm and hotel. Now, they've decided to make it official and experience the rest of their journeys together.
