If your invitation has only the reception listed, then it is for the reception only. We are calling it a "marriage party"! Unfortunately, the courthouse limits how many people may observe an elopement, so we have to limit it to just our immediate family. That's why we're doing "the party part", so we can still celebrate with so many of our loved ones! And we are SO excited to see you all!
The dress code is festive cocktail attire. It's cocktail dressy, but not so buttoned-up and much more fun! Think unique silhouettes and bold colors (but only if you like bright colors, some of us love to wear black and white only and we love that!). We want to see your self-expression, outfits that spark joy in your heart to wear. Plus, it's San Diego, and we're all chill and laid back here, and Natalie didn't like dress codes in school and she doesn't like them now! If you're a stickler for them though, you can find an example collage in the gallery section of this website. And when in doubt, just wear whatever makes you feel confident, comfortable, and ready to be photographed. As long as you'll be able to tear one up on the dance floor with us, you're good!
First off, thank you for wanting to get us a gift! We are so appreciative of your generosity. If you feel so inclined, we do have some trip funds set up on the registry tab of this website. In terms of "the usual registry stuff", we already have everything we need, so in lieu of that, we would love for you to bring or send us an album on vinyl to add to our collection! One of our first conversations when we met was talking about our mutual love for vinyl records, so having some from our marriage party guests would mean the world. Feel free to open it up and write us a note on the dust sleeve, inside the cover, etc.
Yes! We will be having a buffet-style taco cart with all the delicious options you could hope for! Along with a hosted bar for guests to enjoy (responsibly, please! We like having you in our life and want you to stay there!). There are also vegetarian and gluten-free options available for our friends that would like that.
Yes! If you have young kids, they are included in the invite and you should be able to RSVP for them when doing so for yourself, should you wish to bring them. We will have an upstairs lounge area with some fun activities for the kiddos to stay entertained, as well as a board games station for all to enjoy in case dancing isn't your thing.
The venue is located in Chula Vista, CA right on the San Diego bay. The address is 640 Marina Parkway Chula Vista, CA 91910 When pulling up to the venue, just pull through the main gates into the parking lot and head toward the big blue buildings, that's where we'll be!
The venue is The Bayside Pavillion, right on the marina in Chula Vista. There is a very large, free parking lot at the venue that guests are welcome to park in. You may even do so safely overnight if needed, it will just be your responsibility to return by 8am the next morning to get your car back.
The evening starts at 5PM, and food will be open for serving from 5:30PM - 7:30PM, and last call for the bar will be 9:45PM. We will be playing some classic wedding reception games, dancing, and celebrating the whole night!
We tried to include everyone's partners as far as we know. But if someone special has entered your life that you'd like to bring along, especially for those of you from out of town who would otherwise be traveling alone, message us after the RSVP deadline and we will see what we can do!
Please RSVP on the RSVP tab by June 12, 2026. Thank you!
Midsummer in San Diego is beautiful, but can get pretty warm during the day. Luckily we're by the water, so we'll have the bay breeze to keep us cooler, and the venue is mainly indoors. However that also means it could get pretty chilly when the sun goes down. We suggest bringing a light layer to put on as needed.
Ultimately, we want this to be a fun evening for everyone to celebrate our love with us! We are specifically calling this a "marriage party" instead of a wedding reception, because for us, it's about the two of us, our new marriage, and celebrating the love we are so lucky, blessed and devoted to having. And our friends and family are a huge part of that joy. We've invited our loved ones, our favorite humans, and we want you all to enjoy yourselves, with respect and kindness to each other. Weddings can come with stress, expectations, and customs, and that's not really our thing. We're doing this in such a unique way-- our way-- for that reason, so we hope you'll join us in the celebration! And for our humans who may need a moment away from the festivities, the upstairs lounge will be open and stocked with board games, soft drinks, and a bit less noise to take a breather in as needed.
