On October 21, 2021, Genevieve and Brian got married in a small ceremony at Lenoir Preserve in Yonkers, NY with their parents, siblings, and their bridal party present. They wanted to do something small and intimate, but they still want to celebrate with everyone! Please join them for their Happily Ever After Party & 2nd anniversary on October 21, 2023.
They both swiped right. Thanks Tinder! (#NotSponsored) Genevieve had just gotten back from visiting the person she was dating and to make a long story short, she was upset, angry, and swore off dating. She turned to Tinder for one more re-bound (sorry Mom, sorry Dad). On January 15, 2017, she swiped right on Brian not thinking anything of it - and she only remembers the date because she screenshotted a conversation of some guy named Austin asking her to play "F*ck, Marry, Kill" with him, Hitler, and him (it didn't go anywhere - she said she'd marry him and then kill him for his money and he never responded. Clearly, he didn’t appreciate her sense of humor). Brian decided to give dating apps a shot and ended up on Tinder - he had no idea what people *really* used Tinder for (again... sorry Mom, sorry Dad). When he matched with Genevieve, he sent a gif of a King Charles Cavalier with the message "I hope you like dogs!" He was planning on using Hunter to win her over. Little did he know, Genevieve worked as dog-walker. It was safe to say that she loved dogs. For their first date, Genevieve suggested 212 Hisae's, a popular Asian fusion restaurant amongst NYU and Pace University students (known for their $4 drinks, $3 shots, and a cute little grandma who gave everyone free fries). At the end of the night, Brian was eager to show her his bright green car. The rest is history.
Genevieve and Brian did things a little backwards. They bought a house and adopted a dog together, but marriage was not at the forefront. They were already treating each other as their life partners, so it was something they knew would happen eventually, but there was no rush to get there. After living together for a few months, they figured "why not?" and planned their elopement/mini ceremony. Genevieve picked a ring, and due to production lead times and a delay in shipment, they ended up being engaged for only 10 days. A bit unconventional - and they're sure they confused so many of you, but if they had to do it all over again, they wouldn't change a thing.
