Question

Alabama's mask mandate will be ending April 9th, will we be required to wear a mask at the wedding?

Answer

Although Alabama's government mandate will be ending on April 9th, at my mom and I's preference, the venue will be enforcing masks to be worn by guests during the ceremony portion of the wedding. During the reception, masks will not be required, but will be encouraged when you are unable to social distance, or indoors for the restroom.

Question

Are you anticipating any COVID restrictions?

Answer

We have spoken with our venue and as of right now, there are no expectations to have any restrictions for our May wedding date. The venue is fully outdoors and able to offer the proper social distancing for guests. We encourage those to wear masks if they would like and remain distanced if that makes them more comfortable. We also encourage any guests who feel sick, to stay home and celebrate us from afar. We will have a "wristband system" in place of red, yellow, and green wristbands. By wearing these, you will be able to let others know if you are "okay with hugs/high fives"(green), "okay with talking, but not touching" (yellow), or "keeping my distance" (red). We hope to take as many precautions as possible to keep everyone as safe as possible, while still celebrating and having fun!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP no later than April 10, 2021. This is to ensure that we can give our amazing vendors accurate headcounts leading up to our big day! Feel free to easily RSVP on our website after invitations are sent out!

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

While we 100% encourage LOTS of pictures to be taken during the reception, please refrain from using cameras/phones/etc. to take ANY photography during the ceremony. We are asking everyone that this be an "unplugged ceremony" so that our paid photographers can get some great shots!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your formal invitation.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We do have a block of rooms at the DoubleTree Hilton located at The Colonnade/Perimeter Park. Please visit the "Travel" tab for more ideas on hotel options.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be taking place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both our ceremony and reception will be taking place outdoors. However, there is a back-up option should any inclement weather occur.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

You will be directed to an area of land to park at for the event. Rare Transportation will be there to shuttle you from your car to the ceremony/reception site. If you need to drop someone off that may be in a wheelchair or need assistance, let them know so that they can direct you where to drop off.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive 20-30 minutes before ceremony start time. This should ensure you time to be shuttled from your car to the ceremony site. We would hate for you to miss the ceremony or be without a seat!

Question

Will you be having a welcome party or after party?

Answer

We will be having a rehearsal dinner the night before for the wedding party and immediate family. This event will be by invitation only. We are planning on heading to our favorite bar for some after-wedding Karaoke at The Derby in downtown Birmingham. This is not a wedding-event and there will not be a bar tab. Feel free to stop by and continue the celebration and sing a song or two!

Question

Will there be transportation to/from the venue?

Answer

We will not have a shuttle or transportation from any hotels to the venue. However, we do strongly encourage our guests to utilize Uber or Lyft when coming to and from the ceremony/reception. Both Uber and Lyft are in service at the location of the venue.

Question

If I drive to the wedding, may we leave our car overnight?

Answer

If you decide to drive to the wedding site, we encourage all guests to practice responsible drinking. If you drink, please leave your car at the venue and Uber/Lyft home. You will be able to leave your cars overnight and retrieve them the next day.
