Hello Everyone! We celebrated our 1 year anniversary on September 5th. In true covid style, we met at St. Thomas More to perform another sacrament: baptism. Jordan was baptized on our 1 year anniversary! We have truly been blessed this year and would like to pay it forward. Using the link below, you will find all the wonderful memories captured by our AMAZING photographers. Feel free to save these photos :) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! https://creationsxanna.passgallery.com/-varney/gallery Love, The Varneys Josh, Dominique, and Jordan
We cannot believe it is already July, and the reception is just 6 days away! We so appreciate the outpouring of love and support from our family and friends over the past months (and really, several years), especially as we navigate all the challenges of planning a wedding ceremony and reception during a global pandemic! As many of you know, we welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Jordan, on 5/14/21. She is the light of our lives, and we are so blessed to be her parents. In order to keep her (and all our guests) healthy, we kindly ask that any guest who is not fully vaccinated (i.e. two weeks after the last dose) please wear a mask as much as possible. It means the world to us to have such amazing family and friends, and we cannot wait to see you all soon! Please help us capture all the fun moments of the day by using our hashtag so we can share the love #VarneyPride. If you have extra time and want to explore the area, there’s a ton of hidden (ish) gems in the Northwest Indiana region! For any candy lovers (especially gummi bears!), we recommend the Albanese Candy Factory, located in nearby Merrillville, IN. If you’d prefer a beer, 3 Floyds Brewing Co. is second to none! Considered one of America's best and most influential independent craft breweries, Three Floyds has an impressive assortment of beer. For the donut enthusiast, we cannot recommend Munster Donut enough! Centennial Park, also located in Munster, IN, is home to beautiful gardens and walking paths, a golf course, and lots of great restaurants nearby (Harvest Room, Kitaro, Café Borgia, The Simple Greek, and El Salto). And if you don’t have one where you live, there’s also a White Castle right down the street! Chicago is just a quick train away and home to world class food, entertainment, and architecture (it is also the birthplace of Mr. Varney himself)! Much Love & many thanks, Dominique & Josh

Time for a plot twist... In the beginning of January, our venue went out of business. We have a new date: July 17, 2021! Invites will be going out in May, so keep your eyes peeled! We look forward to celebrating with you!
We did it! Even with all the craziness and changed plans, Josh and I were able to say "I Do" at Saint Thomas More Church in front of our families! The weather was gorgeous and the day was perfect. Thank you to those who sent well wishes from afar as well as from the comfort of their cars.. We love you wherever you are =)
It's already September, which means our wedding is right around the corner! Getting so excited to celebrate on Saturday, and wanted to drop a post to answer some questions you may have. Here's the important info: Who? Our friends and family What? A post ceremony celebration!! Where? The north parking lot of Saint Thomas More Church located at 8501 Calumet Avenue, Munster, IN 46321 When? 3:15 pm Why? Because COVID sucks but it can't stop us! :) Excited to see you all on Saturday!
Prudence is care, caution, and good judgment, as well as wisdom in looking ahead. This is an unprecedented time. No one could have expected this to be the world in which we are living, but our new reality is a little bit unclear. After taking some time and considering the feasibility of having the wedding we planned - with lots of family and friends surrounding us - we have made the tough decision to postpone the reception that was planned for September 5, 2020. We will be married in a small ceremony on our original date, and look forward to celebrating with you at our reception on June 19, 2021. A wedding update is being sent out soon so keep an eye out for it! We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause you, but our concern for our friends and loved one's health is of the utmost importance.
Stop. Wait a minute. Your eyes are not deceiving you! That's us, at Disney. :) I was so happy to finally get Josh to my happy place. If you know how Merciers do Disney.. this trip was far from it! We still pushed, got up "early", stayed late, walked a lot... just at a slightly less than grueling pace. We had tons of fun, took lots of pictures, made great memories, even made some new friends (that I still talk to). I hope to go back to Disney when we can safely enjoy all the magic and fun! Pumped for Disney trip #2... I may even get him to go on my favorite ride - Dumbo!!
We have slightly different stories on how we first met each other... Dominique's Version: I met Josh at Round the Clock when my friend from school called me and wanted me to join her and her two guy friends at the restaurant, to even out the group. I walked in, saw him, and knew he was truly special. Josh's Version: I met Dominique when she drove me home one day after hanging out with the above mentioned friend. I met her first from the back seat of her car! In all honesty, Josh remembers everything. He is most likely right about how we met (as much as I hate to say it! hehe) That was in September 2004. We've known each other for a long time. We were friends, lost touch, reconnected, and now this September 2020 we take our forever and ever jump! Dominique and Josh 9.5.2020
