Dom and Jenna officially met at a mutual friend’s birthday party during their senior year at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Fun Fact: they had first met at the same friend’s birthday two years prior but didn’t realize that until becoming friends on Facebook and seeing they were both tagged in a picture
When they met, Jenna had already accepted a job in Chicago after graduation, but since neither of them were willing to call it quits on what they had together. They did long distance for 2 years: one year between Rochester Hills, MI & Naperville, IL and another between Detroit, MI & Chicago, IL when Dom started Medical School and Jenna moved downtown.
After starting her marketing career with large advertising agency DraftFCB, Jenna took a job with Domino’s Pizza, headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI, in an attempt to close the gap after two years long distance, but that would have to wait as the offer relocated her to Salt Lake City, Utah. This is where Jenna fell in love with the mountains and spent an unforgettable trip with Dom in Moab at Arches National Park & Canyonlands National Park. It's also where she learned how to ski with her friends from business school in Park City, UT.
After making the progression from a bus trip to a plane flight to be able to spend time together, it was incredible to be just a drive away from one another once Jenna moved back to Ann Arbor while Dom was finishing Med School in Detroit. There was a lot of time spent on I-94, early mornings and late nights on the road - but it was all worth it to be a part of one another's regular lives.
Dom matched to the University of Colorado for his Medical Residency and Jenna went with him. They started their new life - living together for the first time, adjusting to the altitude, day/night shifts, spending more time outdoors and enjoying better weather than anywhere in the Midwest. Their duo became a trio when they adopted their Shih Tzu pup Oliver in January of 2018.
As their love for Colorado grew, Dom & Jenna wanted more space to store their gear, and direct access to outside to enjoy the view. They moved across town from Lowry to Baker, signing their lease on a townhouse in February just before the pandemic and moving in April during lockdown. Their home is actually 2x blocks away from the wedding venue - which just adds to the special nature of their current home.
As things have opened back up, they've absolutely loved exploring their neighborhood, being just a quick drive away from Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater and a scooter ride or a leisurely walk to any major activities downtown. They love taking Oliver to check out new coffee shops, and have started making their way through the recently released Michelin restaurant list. While they may still be renting for awhile, Dom & Jenna are so excited to enter this next phase of life together as a married couple and are looking forward to starting a family soon.
