We're Getting Married!

Cole and Emma first met while they both attended UNI. Cole (a fewww years older) graduated in 2014 and Emma in 2015. They ran in similar social circles with mutual friends but didn't get the chance to know each other well. Fast forward nearly a decade and Cole reached out to Emma with a "Happy Birthday!" message. His next question was "are aliens real?' and the rest was history. The pair chatted for months until Emma returned home to Iowa for a visit and they went on their first date, to see the movie Barbie. The connection was immediate and after one more trip to watch Cole coach high school football (Go Hawks!) they made it official and started a year of long distance while Emma was still in Colorado and Cole in Story City. Emma made the move back to Iowa in late 2024 and the two then quickly made a home together in Story City in early 2025. (The home included chickens, Emma's two dogs and fun projects to breathe life into their 1930s house.) In July 2025, during the daily ritual of walking the pups, Rory and Wrigley, Cole let them lead to one of our favorite spots in town. He got on one knee and popped the question and obviously, the answer was "of course". We're having a blast planning the wedding and can't wait to have you there!
