The Sanctuary on Roosevelt Island, NY
DRIVING: There is minimal parking right outside the venue, but once the lot fills up the doormen will direct you to a parking lot a short (less than) 1 min walk away for those who feel comfortable driving, and Uber/Lyft is a great option for those who don’t. Please stay safe and default to a ride service or carpooling if you plan to drink. TRAM: The Roosevelt Island Tramway runs every 7-15 minutes from 59th Street and Second Avenue in Manhattan to Tramway Plaza on Roosevelt Island. Only MTA MetroCards are accepted and can be purchased at the Tram Stations. SUBWAY: Take the F train to Roosevelt Island Station or Air Tram located on E 59th St & 2nd Ave which runs every 7-15 minutes and is the same fair options as the subway. From there you can either walk or hop on the free shuttle, Red Bus, and get dropped off slightly closer. The island is very short so it shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes to walk. HOTEL: If you plan to stay at the hotel on the island, there is a free shuttle called The Red Bus which runs around the Island and makes regular local stops every 8 minutes from 5:30AM-3:30AM.
There is one hotel on the island itself called Graduate which we recommend you stay at since there is a free shuttle from the venue to the hotel - this is where we will be staying. There are also a ton of great hotels just over the bridge in Long Island City or a quick ride into Manhattan from the F train. HOTEL BLOCK: We were unable to reserve a hotel block at Graduate as it requires specifics for every room including number of guests, number of beds etc. but we were able to receive a discount code for everyone to use. Code: NEGNEIGH
CEREMONY: We ask all guests to arrive by 5:15 pm. If you are late, you will be kindly asked by the team to not enter the ceremony space. Please wait and enter during cocktail hour! COCKTAIL HOUR: 6PM RECEPTION: 7PM - 11PM
Dress code is spring formal (Black-tie optional); think 'wildflower chic' because who doesn't love getting dressed up for a wedding, am I right?! :) It will be spring so we would love to see bright colors & patterns, but we kindly ask that you avoid color that is traditionally reserved for the bride - whites, ivory's and creams.
We do not have a registry. Should you wish to give a gift, a cash gift would be greatly appreciated - we kindly request no boxed gifts.
If we do not get an RSVP reply by the date in which we have provided, it will be marked as no. We will miss you celebrating with us however; we have to provide a total guest count to the venue in the timely manner they have given us and cannot accept late RSVPs due to this. We appreciate your understanding!
Ceremony, reception & cocktail hour will be taken place indoors. After the ceremony you will be asked to wait outside for a moment as the team quickly resets. If it rains they will have tens set up but keep in mind you may need a light jacket and/or rain coat.
Although we would love to accommodate everyone who would like to join our celebration, we are only able to accommodate the number of guests noted on your RSVP.
Since we have huge extended families, we’ve chosen to limit our guest list outside the wedding party to sixteen-year-olds and over, and we hope you understand. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, we’d like that time to be unplugged.
