Although they grew up over 600 miles apart from each other, Katie and John made their way to Nashville and met in 2013 as incoming students to the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. After two years of being close friends, Katie and John grew even closer and began dating in the fall of 2015. While John continued work on his PhD studies, Katie began her residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt. On Katie's birthday in 2018, John popped the question and immediately took Katie out for pizza! They are very excited to celebrate their marriage with family and friends.
