Venice Marco Polo Airport

This is the closest major airport to the venue. If you don't want to rent a car (which has some challenges), the best way to get to the hotel or Castle from the airport: 1. Take the bus to Venice Maestre Station on the ATVO direct bus line or the ACTV line 15 bus. Both take you to the train station on the Mainland just outside of Venice. (About 20 minutes total) 2. Hop on a train to Montagnana (the Hotel) or Bevilacqua (the Castle). - Trenitalia Regionale 16732 goes direct from Venice Maestre to both stops. (About 1 hour 30 minutes) OR - Trenitalia Regionale Veloce 3997 to Moneslica (32 minutes) and then transfer to Regionale 16884 to either stop (30 minutes)

Accommodations

We have reserved all of the rooms at the Castle for us and our wedding party. We also have rooms at the Hotel Aldo Moro in nearby and beautiful Monntagnana reserved. Accommodations at the venue and the hotel are our gift to you—covered by us for the full celebration. We will also have shuttle services between the hotel and the venue. It might be possible to upgrade to a suite at the hotel, if you prefer. There are also many other options nearby if you would rather stay somewhere else, but you will have a bed to sleep in at either the Castello or the hotel.

Hotel

Castello Bevilacqua

50 Via Roma, Bevilacqua, Veneto 37040, Italy

This is where all events will take place. It is a few miles down the road from the hotel. We have a driver who will be available to take guests to and from the hotel to the venue.

Hotel

Hotel Aldo Moro

27 Via Guglielmo Marconi, Montagnana, Veneto 35044, Italy

This location is approximately 6 km (3.5 miles) from the Castello. We will have shuttles for all the events to and from the hotel to the Castello.

Getting to the Castle from the hotel

We will have transportation set up to take people back and forth from the hotel to the castle. This will most likely be in the form of a 7 passenger car and driver. There is only one driver in the area, and he is a character. Because of the walls surrounding the city, vans and buses cannot enter. This would lead to a long walk outside the walls of the city to get to a shuttle. If you want to go to the castle on your own, the train station is about 1km (10 minute walk) from the hotel and it is one train stop away from the Castle. The station near the castle is about 300m away. Here is the schedule for the driver: Welcome Dinner (10/19): - Leaving Hotel: 6:30pm until 7:30pm - Leaving the Castle: 8:30pm until 11:00pm Rehearsal Dinner (10/20): - Leaving Hotel: 6:00pm until 7:00pm - Leaving the Castle: 9:30pm until 12:30am Ceremony (10/21): - Leaving Hotel: 2:30pm until 3:30pm - Leaving the Castle: 10:00pm until 1:00am Goodbye Brunch (10/22): - Leaving Hotel: 9:30am until 10:30am - Leaving the Castle: 11:30am until 12:30pm

Rental Car Info

Renting a car in Italy is not for the faint of heart. If you are planning on renting a car here are a few things to keep in mind: 1. You will need an International Driving Permit (available from any AAA office in America). It costs $20 and you will need a passport photo (also available at AAA for $10) 2. Beware of the ZTL. Most towns in Italy have zones that are restricted from driving without a special permit. These areas are almost always in the historic centers. The problem is that the signs for these zones are very hard to see and the tickets are very pricey. It's not uncommon to get tickets for hundreds, if not thousands of dollars a few months after you get back home. If you do not pay them, you may not be able to get back into Europe in the future. 3. Parking can be tricky. The castle has plenty of parking, and while there are a good amount of spots in Montagnana, the streets and parking spots are very tiny.

Information for Entry into to Europe

UPDATE: ETIAS has been postponed until 2027. You will NOT need to get a visa to enter Europe for the wedding. The EES system is still being used, but not regularly. At some point this year (Probably the 4th quarter of 2026), Europe will require visas to enter. Also, starting October 12, you will need to go through the new EES biometric system to enter. These processes are not currently in place, but they could be by the time of the wedding. If they do go into effect here is some info for you: For Visa's: You will have to get an ETIAS to enter. It will cost around $24 (Those under 18 or over 70 can get it for free!) It is a simple form and should only take a few minutes to fill out. Be sure to go to the official website: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/en/etias Beware, there are a lot of scams going on with fake websites claiming to offer ETIAS. For EES: You will have to scan your fingerprints, take some photos, etc. This will probably add some time when you go through customs. There is nothing you need to do before hand to prepare for this, it's just something to be aware of.
