How We Met

Thank God We Both Swiped Right!

Even though Dodson and I both attended Mercer University, our paths never crossed on campus. He graduated from the Law School in 2012, then I graduated from the College in 2017. But, thankfully our paths did cross when he was back in town visiting Macon after graduation. It was simply meant to be! Two right swipes and we were off, beginning our journey together!

How He Proposed

The capital "P" Proposal

Our Proposal definitely was not your typical wedding marriage Proposal, but it was perfect for Us. Kelsey's parents operate a catering company and they cater many events, including numerous weddings throughout each year. As you can imagine, their calendar fills up quickly! So, we actually picked a date before anything else. (shhhh, even the Ring! haha). After looking at all the calendars, we knew that Friday November 6, 2020 was the day we'd be tying the knot! After nailing down a date, then we turned our attention to finding the perfect Ring. Over the summer Kelsey and her Mom started searching, scouring for that special combination of stone and setting. With an enormous assist from a Russ @ Masina Diamonds, They found the perfect oval diamond set in a beautiful rose gold band. Once we had the Ring, then Dodson had to find the perfect opportunity to Propose! But we both had to wait, haha. This Summer was a busy time for both of us. Kelsey started a new job and we moved into our new place place in Midtown. But once we got settled, Dodson knew it was time to pop the Question. We picked up the Ring on a Friday afternoon and as soon as we got home to our new apartment, Dodson asked Kelsey if she would marry Him! Thankfully she said "Yes!" So naturally, We got dressed up, took some pictures, and went to dinner to celebrate. We had reservations at Cooks and Soldiers! It holds such a special place in Our hearts and for Our relationship. It's where we went on our first date in Atlanta. It's where we celebrated our anniversary and it is where we will host Our wedding reception! Needless to say, the wedding industrial complex played a huge role in our wedding planning and proposal, but We wouldn't have it any other way!

The Wedding

The Promise Not The Party

On November 6, 2020, we were wed in a small private ceremony with our immediate family. Getting married during Covid-19 was challenging for everyone involved, but ultimately totally worth it. It also allowed Mila to be a part of our special day. We wouldn't have had it any other way!
