Patrick was adamant we make it to the ridge for the sunset on this average little date night of ours. This ridge was one of my favourite walks with Leo when we lived in Renfrew - I used to do it every day and Patrick knows how much I love the spot. Little did I know, our friend Teresa was hiding out, waiting to snap a pic of the big moment! Bonus points if you can find the spot that we got engaged ☺︎ (hint: keep walking west to Rosedale Off Leash Dog Park).
Patrick proposed with a poem on a Two Pillars can as we sat on a bench watching the sunset over the city skyline. Two Pillars is our favourite micro brewery in Calgary! After he popped the question, we headed there with Teresa to grab a drink, celebrate with the staff who were in on the secret, call family members, and savour the moment. We recommend you head here for a pint (or two), and say hi to Todd and Boaz for us!
After our drink, Patrick and I went to the Nash for a VERY tasty dinner. We were BUZZING and a lovely table nearby ordered us champagne to celebrate our good news!
We sent a low key message to the group chat, telling friends we were heading to the Ironwood to listen to some live music if anyone wanted to join. Once there, Megan obnoxiously shoved her ring finger in everyone's face to share the news. The band played us a song, the owner gave us free champagne and we celebrated with good music and great friends ❤︎
We ended the night at this local brewery where we were joined by more friends and did a heckuva lot more celebrating. It was the BEST night! If you head here, Megan's favourite drink, the Dadge is delightfully refreshing, and the hot dogs are delish.
If you want a lemon meringue pie that is approximately 6ft tall - this is the place for you! A humble kinda retro truckstop diner that we love. We headed here for a tasty breakfast the morning after our engagement ❤︎
