Who would've thought the grungy college bar, Wild Bull, would be the perfect place to meet your soul mate. The couple first met in June 2019 on a night out with friends. If you know the couple, you likely wouldn't be surprised to learn that Alyssa made the first move. It was actually Devan's friends who were talking to Alyssa's friends when Alyssa noticed a cute guy standing off to the side. She asked the group if he was with them and they said "yes". Alyssa shouted over to him, in his maroon Van's shirt, and said "I like your shirt". From there, the two started chatting, and Devan bought Alyssa a drink...well, actually a shot of tequila, and then that was it. Alyssa and her friends left the bar, no exchange of numbers or contact info. However, as the night winded down, the girls went to catch an Uber when they once again ran into Devan and his friends. That's when Alyssa decided to make her move and put her number into Devan's phone. She wondered if he was really even into her since he didn't ask her first, but one of the first texts Devan sent was asking her on a date. On their first date, Alyssa and Devan connected on their love for craft beer, being raised in the country riding dirt bikes and spending much of their time outdoors. They also connected on their love for travel and adventure. Devan had just returned from a trip to Thailand when they first met and Alyssa was intrigued. Their second date consisted of sitting on a paddle board in the middle of a lake, talking for hours about life, family and their dreams. Fast forward, well not very far forward but very fast - the two started officially dating on July 15th, 2019. Since then, they have enjoyed traveling to over 10 national parks, adventure sports like mountain biking and snowboarding to even doing a year of long distance when Alyssa decided to move to California. Through a pandemic, 2,000 miles of distance and 5 years of fun, the pair has always remained strong. The two are the perfect balance. Alyssa is free-spirited, driven and ambitious whereas Devan is calm, thoughtful and laid back. Devan's supportive and kind nature is the perfect alchemy to Alyssa's energetic soul.
