Celebrate Dr. Shinn with us!

While I passed my PhD defense (a 3-hour oral presentation to 5 PhD faculty with expertise in my research area) in August 2022 and started a full-time job 3 days later, I did not officially graduate until May 12, 2023. The final piece of obtaining my degree was depositing my dissertation (a 230-page write-up of all of the research I've done over the past 5 years). I deposited my dissertation on April 24th and you can officially call myself "Dr. Shinn"! Aftwe walking in my May graduation, I am ready to celebrate the culmination of this accomplishment with all of you!

Dr. Shinn! After 5 years of hard work, we can officially address Leila as "Dr. Shinn"! Come enjoy good food, drinks, and company with us as we celebrate the completion of this huge milestone!

Zola is designed for weddings. But unfortunately, there isn't an equivalent platform for graduation celebrations. In order to create an all-in-one website with info for all of you and a registry, Zola was the best bet. However, Zola is specifically a wedding website. So if you see the terms "wedding" or "ceremony" anywhere, you all know Max and I are already married - it's just the nuances of the site we used for celebrating Dr. Shinn! (And you could consider the dedication I've given my PhD to be marriage-level)
