Choyce and Ericka have been best friends since middle school. They were neighbors for eighteen years and with each year progressed more towards family members than mere friends. Ericka received her medical degree from Ross University school of Medicine, the medical school which David also attended. As study partners these two were very close and during there clinical years Ericka introduced David and Choyce. Friends sacrifice and help each other and this is yet another example of how this inseparable duo has been a support system to one another.

Shea and Choyce have been friends for 5 years. Choyce and Shea met as they both embarked on their travel nurse journey in Baltimore, Maryland at the exact same time. The two instantly bonded over shared goals and family dynamics. Shea has been there for Choyce in some of her darkest moments, proving time and time again that the strength of a friendship is not years shared but in memories made.

Tayler and Choyce have a unique story. They met at a restaurant on South beach as they both dined at separate tables, after a small conversation they ended up together for the rest of their weekend trip in Miami. The two reconnected again in Miami when Tayler invited Choyce for her birthday festivities. The two have remained close ever since even though they have never lived in the same state. They have both visited each other as they have moved across states multiple times. Tayler has supported Choyce throughout many important moments and always voiced how proud she is of Choyce and her accomplishments.

Where to start. Terika and Choyce have been close friends for 15 years. They met when Choyce was 16 and both started working at Aeropostale. Their nicknames for each other are Ebony and Ivory. The two have been through many journeys of life together. Throughout the years Terika has supported Choyce, she even came to visit her when Choyce was living all the way in California.

Jasmine is Terika’s little sister. She has been adopted as the little sister that Choyce never had. Choyce and Jasmine have also been friends for 15 years and met while working at Aeropostale. When together they combine forces, and annoy Terika on every vacation and outing.
Bianca Robbins

Bianca and Choyce met on Choyce’s first day at Emory University Hospital Midtown. Bianca’s kind and joyful spirit matched Choyce’s perfectly. The two instantly connected and became close friends. Recently married, Bianca has constantly sowed into Choyce and David’s relationship and been a consistent voice of advice and reason. Bianca’s husband, Kaylane and David are also really close friends.

Raven is David’s little sister. Although she and Choyce met because of David, they became friends on purpose. They bonded over beauty and fashion tips. Their bond continues to grow daily.
Chantel Wells

These two bonded instantly. Chantel and Choyce also met when Choyce began working at Emory. Chantel’s helpful and friendly personality instantly attracted the two. Chantel has been there for Choyce to offer advice and encouragement through many life events and has been the big sister Choyce never had. Chantel has always been excited and supportive of David and Choyce’s blossoming relationship so it is only right she be front and center to watch the two become one.
Christopher Shembo

David and Christopher first met in Charlotte in 2007 while attending the same high school. These two were like twins separated at birth. Through the good and bad they remained friends. As David moved away due to hardship within his family, Christopher and the rest of the Shembo family took him in as there own. Seeded in deep Congolese tradition this bond and brotherhood formed between these two young men grew into a lifelong friendship. A friendship which saw them reconvene coincidentally when they both unknowingly signed to play college football at the same program. To this day they remain the best of friends.

David’s eldest brother and a father figure in his life, Joe has always been a call away and a part of the foundation that helped build David to the man he is today. Though eight years separate them in age these two never allowed that to form a divide in their relationship. Joe has been a big brother and mentor to David since birth. Whether providing examples of what to do or what not to do, Joe always made sure David understood consequences and repercussions of life decisions. He has raised several beautiful Daughters (David’s nieces), and he constantly emulates how to raise a family in this day and age.
Nic Coe

Nic is David’s second oldest brother and the ultimate competitor. Whether it was as kids battling to see who could swing the highest to adults racing for the fastest six mile run, the competitive spirit runs deep. As rough and tumble as these two may appear they sacrifice any and everything for each other. Siblings are not chosen but David would not trade his for anything. Nic continues to progress in the military, yet they do not lose contact even when Nic is worlds away.

Jalen and David met in college and Jalen became the big little brother. These two constantly hung around each other and poured guidance into one another. In search of maturity a bond was formed which resulted in David becoming the God father of Jalen’s son Isaac. To this day they keep in contact whether it be to trash talk opposing sports teams or provide words of faith and solace.

Probably the most interesting relationship in this wedding party Nate and David first met as college freshman where they were roommates. To say it was a rough start is an understatement as pride and narcissism kept David concealed from befriending Nate. After several months of volatile encounters these two discussed there differences only to discover just how alike they actually were. From that day forth David and Nate have formed a brotherhood that knows no bounds.

A relationship that began as competition evolved into friendship and brotherhood. David and Zach first met in college on the football field competing for the same position, and became brothers by embracing the same monotonous grind. Day in and day out they competed and in an effort to get further apart came closer together. Even when feeling overwhelmed they were their for one another and to this day they remain fans of one another cheering each other on as they progress through life.

Ask their mothers and they’ve been friends since the womb. These two young men have legitimately known each other since birth as their mother’s grew up in Baltimore as very close friends in grade school. Now as grown men they continue to keep the smiles and laughter flowing just as their mothers did years ago.
Jacob Davis

David and Jacob met at orientation in medical school. On an Island far away from home their common bond between them was fitness. Being the only two college football players in their class they quickly became friends and discussed more Monday Night Football then one could bare. Once the clinical years began these two roomed together while rotating in Miami and gained an even deeper understanding of one another. Even from very diverse upbringings they shared a deep rooted passion to “go hard” no matter the task. Jacob taught David that lessons gained and time spent amongst great friends is timeless.

The brother of the Bride and a new friendship with David, makes Daryl an immaculate member of the wedding party. Sharing a bond on both sides, Daryl is a charismatic man who accepted David from the moment they met. He formed a friendship with his Brother-in-law to be while also acting as a guide to navigating acceptance within the Stevens family.
