July 26, 2020 Jeff suggested that we go for a walk around campus one evening since we hadn't been there in a while and students were likely to come back soon, so it was a good time to go. We park at St Johns Arena and walk along the beautiful walkway that OSU has been building up for the past few years. We get to our old dorm, Houck House, and comment about how it's still there through all these renovations and how the bench where Jeff first asked me out is still there too. I turn around and Jeff is there, down on a knee, and we had another wonderful "Yes!" at that special bench.
2014 Seven years ago, the quiet guy down the hall, the one who knew everything about sports, texted me to come outside. I didn't see the text for a while, like forty-five minutes, so I panicked and ran downstairs because I thought he was dying or something. He wasn't, but he asked me out on a date. I knew there was something special about him so I said "Sure" and he "Great, now I gotta get back to that football game." His room was right next to the drinking fountain so I always had an excuse for stopping by (I've never been more well-hydrated than that year). A few months later my roommate's friend's parent was driving us up to Michigan for Thanksgiving and it was on that car ride I realized that I loved him. Yet another few months later I tell him that I have something big to say but he can't say anything for at least five seconds after. I tell him that I love him and he busts out laughing. Hysterically cracking up. He thought I was going to break up with him or something silly, but he responded with the same. Fast forward a few years and we graduate with our bachelors together at the Shoe. He gets his dream job at Honda and I move to Louisville, KY for my masters program. Long distance was hard but we made it through stronger than ever. Now we’re finally living together again and planning the next chapter of our lives together! We really hope you can come to make our wedding all the more special!
