Mary & John Gray Library
Where it all started - there are 8 floors with a Starbucks on the first floor. I first noticed Madison while on the first floor sitting in the far left side walking past the elevators. Fun fact - A Lamar alum went to Pixar as in animator and designed Lord Farquaad's castle after the library! Other notable parts of the school include the Setzer Center, which was renovated while we were in school. If you go to the second floor of the food court, you can find a plaque with all of the past student government presidents and VPs, with Madison's name appearing twice on it for 2018 and 2019.
Art Museum of Southeast Texas
Located between St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica and the Event Centre, AMSET has displays by local artists, rotating galleries of eye-catching, thought-provoking artwork from acclaimed state and national artists, large-scale sculptures and an expansive permanent collection. Admission - Free
Texas Energy Museum
The museum highlights the history of petroleum science and technology, going all the way back to geological formation to present-day oil drilling and refining. Admission - $5
Downtown Mural Tour
Starting at the Beautiful Mountain Skate Park, there are a number of murals around Downtown Beaumont!
Struggle Street Brewing
Local brewery/brewpub with many staple beers and usually a few eclectic flavors (peanut butter and jelly stouts, dragonfruit seltzers, etc).
