Our Jewish faith and culture are a big part of the foundation of our relationship. We will be incorporating many of those ancient traditions into our wedding and are excited to share them with you. We realize that some rituals may be new to our guests so we've explained a few below and encourage you to participate! The Chuppah processional will begin at 5pm, however guests are welcome to kick off the wedding day at 430pm with “Kabbalat Panim,” or the Greeting of the Guests. Justine and Dmitry will be seated amongst their parents while guests arrive to greet the bride and groom and share blessings. Please feel free to move through the space to say hi to both of us and our families. Afterwards, the Bride, Groom and Rabbi will privately sign the Ketubah, or marriage contract, alongside immediate family and the bridal party. Dmitry will then cover Justine with her veil, which is called the Bedeken. This has symbolic and spiritual significance portraying inner beauty and shared value of one another from the biblical story of Jacob and Rebekah. By 5pm, guests will be seated and the bridal party will begin walking toward the Chuppah.
There will be a shuttle bus departing from the Loews Atlanta Hotel to the Guardian Works at 4pm. There will also be a return shuttle back to The Loews Atlanta Hotel at the end of the night.
Semi-formal attire is appreciated for our wedding! We want everyone to be comfortable and happy while they help us celebrate! What matters most is that you come to spend the evening with us :)
Hot, hot, hot! But Atlanta’s summers are beautiful. The event space has AC so we can all be comfortable.
