Hi everyone, As you know, the world is a bit crazy and planning anything is very hard right now. When we got engaged last year, there was no way to predict what 2020 would bring. In the beginning of the year we picked the location and date for our wedding - which was almost to the day one year after we got engaged. We were SO excited to have our family and friends come to our wedding in Miami and celebrate our love and marriage. We were looking forward to having our two sides of the family meet, dance, party, and come together as one. Due to the uncertainty of everything, we have cancelled our 12/19/20 wedding date. We don't think it is safe or smart to have an event - the way we wanted - at a time like this. Also, to continue planning or holding out for a future date doesn't feel right. But - we made our marriage official! We did a small, backyard wedding and completed all the paperwork to be married! David's family was able to drive in from Charlotte, but sadly, Jackie's family was unable to make the trip from Miami - giving their blessing of the union of their daughter and new son in law through the computer. We do, and we did, in pandemics and in health! We are glad that our families, bridesmaids, groomsmen, junior bridesmaids, and flower girls got to watch. But we would have been much happier if they were surrounding us in person as we had planned for the December event. Thank you all for your support and for being in our lives. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and hopefully we can celebrate next year!
David thought he was being sneaky by planning a photoshoot as part of Jackie's Hannukah/Christmas gift. Since his cousin, Lucho, is an amazing photographer and Jackie love photos, he thought it was the perfect way to surprise her while getting great pictures (which you can see throughout this site). Lucho was supposed to be "running late" and take photos while hidden, but instead was standing in plain sight when Jackie and David's uber pulled up to Matheson Hammock Park.. Lucho played it cool and had them walk out on the path next to the beach to get some good shots. Once they got far enough out, David got on one knee and proposed! Even with Jackie's hair completely in her face and her inability to speak, Jackie said yes! They then celebrated with family and friends - ending the night with their favorite treat...pizza!
David was enjoying a beer during his class break when he matched with a cute girl on Bumble. Jackie enjoyed David's witty banter, but turned him down when he invited her out with his friends on Valentines day. David was pleasantly surprised when she reached out the next day to check in on his Valentines Day night out. They made plans to meet later that night. First thing that caught Jackie's eye was that David also had dimples. David knew the relationship had potential when he drove her home and she revealed they drove the same car, the Nissan Rogue. After many trips abroad, birthday parties, and 3+ years, David and Jackie live together in their home in Atlanta with their dogs Walter and Maddie. They look forward to celebrating their marriage with you in Miami!
