Wedding Party

Stefani Djurin

HBIC

I had a whole awesome build up that was full of puns, but Stef said no. The fact that we're still getting married speaks volumes as to the patience and grace that Stef has for herself and shows to others. (Mostly for me and my endless repertoire of dad jokes, puns, and potty humor.) She is generous to a fault, and always keeps the needs and wants of others at the forefront of her mind, well ahead of her own. But above all else, she is full of love and warmth, and is eager to share that with her friends and family, and it is impossible to do anything but respond to her with that same kind energy.

Eric Nelson

Groom

A man of oh so many words, perennially 29, and entirely too giddy when near Godzilla merchandise, Eric has been Stefani's source of joy (and exasperation) for over half of her life. Whether it be a gaming partner, a winder of yarn skeins, or the only person in the house who can reach the top of the fridge, Eric remains a strong and steady partner in their relationship. He is the one place where Stef has felt fully comfortable enough to be herself - in all of her shameless, annoying glory. While wholly unprepared for the hijinks that will ensue, Eric's unending patience for her regularly scheduled shenanigans will continue to keep them strong for many moons to come.

Lauren Rymarz

Matron of Honor

Stefani and I have been inseparable since we met in middle school over a science project we proudly named Pam and Paul. What started as a class assignment turned into a lifelong friendship that has carried us through every stage of life. She's more than my best friend - she's my sister, my ride-or-die, and the most incredible Aunt to my two kids. I truly don't know what I would do without her. Standing by her side as she and Eric get married is such an honor, and I couldn't love her more.

Charles Belter

Best Man

It took me 21 years to find family in Eric who’s my literal brother from another mother. No really, we look just enough alike that anyone who came through our little game store back in the day thought we were actual biological brothers. Not only that, but he’s marrying Stefani, the infamous "Halo Girl," whom I consider my little sister from another mister, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for both of them. To say that I am deeply honored to be the best man for one of my best men would be an understatement. From the halcyon days of Gamestop in the Glen to the continued shenanigans of the Moocifer Cinematic Universe, I look forward to the bright future two of my best friends have together and am proud to stand by Eric’s side as he and Stefani start the next chapter in this co-op adventure of life. To quote the Big G, “Skreeeeeeonk!”

Alex "Brown Sugar" Hussain

Bridesman

Alex was a humble customer at the GameStop that Stef and Eric met and worked at. Over the decade, that relationship of customer soon evolved into a friend that played games together to then a friend that went to karaoke together to then a friend that vacations together to now a friend witnessing the union of Stef and Eric on their wedding day. Alex has been their player 3 as an elf, hunter, heist partner, and so many more, but being Bridesman is the role that has swelled Alex's heart with pride and joy, and is honored to be a part of this party... one more time.

Rahul Ramesh

Groomsman

Ladies and Gentlemen -- To say the least, it's a privilege! Though nearly always the most distant of the Squad, Rahul's love for Eric & Stefani has found its way through every state, country, and mode of travel. Now nestled in the DMV area, Rahul connects with the beloved couple as often as he can anytime he visits Chicago. They say home is where the heart is, but for Rahul, he knows home is wherever he's able to spend time with two of his closest and most dearest friends.

Bridesman

My friends are always surprised when I tell them I’m still close to the friends at made at my first job. What they don’t know is that job was handed to me because I had known Eric at EBX in Old Orchard when he sold me a GBA SP. Possibly the saddest version of nepotism ever. But what isn’t sad is that I would share my first day at that job with a friend from GBS, Stefani. Granted if you asked me then, I would not have guessed the GBA salesman and my game design classmate would get married. That would’ve been weird right? To start that shift and be like “Stefani, the guy who I know who helped get me this job, give like 15 years and roughly 900 pokemon and we’ll have ourselves a wedding.” From my perspective the story is a little more Clerks 2 than it is When Harry Met Sally. Both excellent stories, and regardless what matters is that somehow, we’ve managed to keep our little GameStop group together through the years and now get to watch two of my favorite people get married. I never found the adage of “do what you love and you’ll never work” to be true. But if Stefani and Eric taught me anything its that if you do anything with people you love, work will always feel like play. So I will leave them and anyone who has the privilege of knowing them with a quote from one of Stefani’s favorite game series Sonic The Hedgehog: “Enjoy your future, it’s gonna be great.” — Miles Tails Prower, Sonic Generations.

Andrew "Berger" Rosenberger

Groomsman

I was just a friend of a friend (shoutout Rahul!) who was being dragged through the Vault of Glass in Destiny. Nearly 10 years later, I am so honored to be part of their celebration, while still getting dragged through the Vault of Glass in Destiny 2. Eric and Stef have always been a source of hilarity, fun, and inspiration from over 300 miles away. I always look forward to having a beer with them and Fez at Duneyrr, and I look forward to the many future visits with the Slider in tow.
