We’re tying the knot!

There Kassandra was on November 13, 2015 at home, sitting on her couch and Deanna messaged her on POF saying, "Hi, how is your day going?" Hook, Line and Sinker.

The two decided to meet halfway for their first date. Kassandra found tickets on Groupon to the Nutcracker at TCNJ. Kassandra arrived 15 minutes early, and Deanna was 15 minutes late (with notice) Soon after arrival they discovered it was a children production with a designated clapper to encourage the audience. Following the play Deanna insisted to get food at a local diner and there she introduced Kassandra to Pork Roll. Their lives changed from that date 12.07.15, but not just because of the pork roll.

Celebrating their first New Year's Eve together Deanna invited Kassandra to a house party in Manhattan. From enjoying the rooftop, star gazing, admiring the Empire State building and trying out the ice luge it was an experience to remember. Ringing in the New Year with a kiss sealed the deal for Deanna. She asked her the next morning to be her girlfriend and she said yes. 01.01.16

Kassandra and Deanna's relationship was evolving and changing quickly. Before Deanna left for USCG Bootcamp November 2016 she shared her favorite quote from The Outsiders. “It seemed funny to me that the sunset she saw from her patio and the one I saw from the back steps was the same one. Maybe the two different worlds we lived in weren't so different. We saw the same sunset.” This quote and its meaning helped the two of them push through to the other side, knowing that while Kassandra worked everyday and Deanna was in training they saw the same sun and the same moon together no mater the day. While stationed in FL, 6 months later Kassandra packed up and moved to FL to be with Deanna and continue to grow and learn.

With Deanna being stationed in FL, they were unable to spend the holidays together with family in 2017. After moving to Long Island, Deanna made it a priority to spend the holidays with family in 2018. Deanna planned a holiday party with friends and family bringing everyone together for a special evening that Kassandra knew nothing about. On December 8th, 2018 they dressed up and enjoyed a wonderful evening with those that love them. Deanna had the last present to give and before Kassandra knew what was happening, Deanna was down on one knee and popped the question. Kassandra said Yes!
